September 26th-28th, 2016 at 7:00pm

Nightly Topics Include:

FINDING INNER PEACE

First Night: Finding Inner Peace – Making

Peace With the Past

Second Night: Making Peace By Letting Go

of Fear and Anxiety

Third Night: Forgiveness and Making

Peace with One Another

Principal Teresa Morin Bailey is excited to welcome

all students and teachers:

I am filled with enthusiasm and anticipation for an

excellent school year. I welcome both new and

returning families to SHS. I am eager to greet students

each day outside the side entrance, my favorite part of

each day. Together with the staff, it is our goal to work

together to focus on the whole child; mind, body and soul.

SHS will continue to focus on building a strong, faith-filled

school community. Our students will take part in many

community-based service projects with all students involved

in the process of giving. To enhance this work, SHS will

present the Virtues Project to the students and focus on one

virtue a month. Virtues will be present on a daily basis; in

morning prayer, in the buddy program, in all classrooms

and throughout the school.

The Virtue for September is Honor.

If you believe your child would benefit from all that SHS

offers, we invite you to contact us to schedule a visit.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

If you attend daily Mass at 9 a.m., please consider

assisting the parish as a Sacristan. As you may recall,

Pauline Dupuis served in this capacity for many years

and retired from this voluntary post twice. I am

grateful to Lisa Savidge who stepped up to the plate to

volunteer her services the last few years. However, due

to other obligations, she is no longer able assist as

Sacristan on a daily basis. If you have the time and are

interested in assisting the parish in this capacity, please

call the Parish Business Office as soon as possible or

speak with Fr. Gary at your earliest convenience. We

are grateful to Lisa for her time, energy and service to

the parish.

Liturgical Ministers Needed

St. Elizabeth's is in need of

Eucharistic Ministers, lectors, and

altar servers for the upcoming

months, when many of our servers

go away for the winter season. If you

would like to help out, please call the

Parish Office at 926-2206.

OLMM Choir News The OLMM Adult Parish Choir is accepting new members

for the 10:30 a.m. Choir Mass. This non-auditioned,

mixed voice choir will reconvene on Sunday, September

11th with a warm-up starting at 9:30am before Mass in the

St. Catherine Laboure Meeting Room. Rehearsals will then

follow the 10:30am Mass, beginning at 11:45am-1:00pm

each week. All voices, (sopranos, altos, tenors and basses)

are needed and welcomed. For further information, contact

Pat Mackensen at 926-2823.

Young Voices Needed!

Our Children's Choir will resume

singing in September, and all boys

and girls in grades 3-8 are invited to

join us in glorifying God, learning

about music and our Catholic Faith, and enriching the

Mass through sacred music! The first practice will be

on Wednesday, September 7th at 6:15pm and then

weekly rehearsals will be on Monday nights thereafter

at 6:15pm, and we sing each Sunday at the 9 am

Mass. Interested? Contact choir director Jolene Nelson

at [email protected] for more information.

WHY SHOULD I ENROLL MY CHILD IN THE

CHILDREN'S CHOIR? REASON #1: Make Great Friends! Choir members not only prepare the notes and rhythms for Sunday Mass, but they also practice concepts of collaboration, devotion, and service. Rehearsals feature discussions of Bible stories, theological concepts, and the liturgy of the Catholic Church. How many after school activities can claim that? Choir members make strong Catholic friendships that will last a lifetime.

Has

Something

Changed??

Have you

moved, or changed your

phone number? Do you

now use online giving

and would rather not

receive envelopes

anymore? Be sure to call

the Parish Office at 926-

2206 to let us know about

the changes in your life so

we can update our

records! Thanks!

Below are just a couple of the CD titles available in our Lighthouse Media Collection:

How to Talk About Same Sex Marriage Catholic Apologist Trent Horn carefully considers same-sex marriage and provides an in-depth discussion that addresses the misconceptions held by many in our society today. This examination of what marriage really is, and what it is not, provides a truly gracious and persuasive response to the debate surrounding this important topic.

Defeating Satan’s Deadly Weapon Against Men Pornography has become pervasive in our culture - a true plague, infecting nearly every corner of our society. Its disastrous effects are seen in sexual addiction, ruined marriages, and shattered lives. Jeff Cavins notes that many men struggle with pornography. With great insight, he shows how we can fight pornography's devastating influence and chart a course to true Christian purity. We kindly ask for a donation of $4.00 per book (or otherwise specified suggested donation), $3.00 per CD, $2.00 per booklet and $0.50 per pamphlet so that we may continue this program. Please make all checks out to “OLMM.” Won’t you reach out and help bring someone home?

Highlighting Our Advertisers Did you know that DŌTerra Wellness Advocate advertises on the back pages of our bulletin? Any business you give them benefits our parish in the publication of our bulletin. We thank all of our advertisers.

Much appreciation, Wendy
