Pastoral Perspective

Dear Parishioners,

Our patron Saint Vincent de Paul was a runner. He was known to run to every opportunity to provide spiritual and material works for the poor and for all the people of his community. Born in France, Vincent was very intelligent and a good organizer. As a teenager he felt called to the priesthood and in 1600 was ordained a priest.

Twenty five years later he founded his own community, the Congregation of the Mission, which was devoted to working among the poor in for the formation of priests.

Saint Vincent wrote, “Do the good that presents itself to be done. I do not say we should go out indiscriminately and take on everything, but rather those things God lets us know he wants of us. We belong to him and not to ourselves. If he increases our work, he adds to our strength also.“

Saint Vincent de Paul pray for us.Blessings,

Father Kenneth S. VanHaverbekeP A S T O R

Last Monday, September 13th, Sierra Hills Golf Club hosted the annual Michelle Vitarelli Memorial Golf Tournament! Friends and family of the Vitarelli's came together for a day of fun and love in honor of the life of our friend, sister, daughter, Michelle. Michelle was an active participant in our youth group. Proceeds from the tournament go towards our youth ministry programs, to help kids just like Michelle grow in their relationships with Christ and each other.

Thank you to all who came out to play and who helped put together such a special day. We couldn't have done it without you!
