CHRISTIAN FAITH FORMATION
Everyday Stewardship
I was recently reading an article about the real aspects of true love. The psychologist writing the piece said that many
people hide behind the words "I love you." They can start believing that if they say it enough times, it simply becomes
true.
Jesus claimed that the world would know his disciples by the fact that they loved one another. In the Church, we
speak of loving one another quite frequently. I hope that someone can tell that I am a disciple of Jesus by the way I
love others. However, that hope is something I have to keep in the center of my mind because I fear too often that I
speak more of love than act out of love.
As Christians, we can find ourselves hiding behind our words. History, unfortunately, has shown us that our witness
of action has not always been profound enough. The world will surely know whom it is we serve if we love like Jesus,
we act like Jesus, and we serve others like Jesus. Our stewardship will bear witness to the transforming power of Je-
sus Christ, and we will bring others to him. Our love will be an instrument of our evangelization. Our words will become
true, not because we said them enough, but because they are true.

St. Patrick Youth Faith Formation Parish Information
For the past several years we have offered a drop off trailer for aluminum cans. Laurie O’Neal & Andy
Souders have very graciously taken the cans to the recycle center, unloaded them, ridded the trailer of any
trash that was thrown in, brought the trailer back and left the resulting check for the youth of our parish.
Thank you so much Laurie and Andy. Your generous donations of time and effort are greatly appreciated!
Thank you also to all of our parishioners that have taken the time to bag up the cans and dropped them off
in the trailer.
Sadly, the trailer has become filled with more trash than cans. Therefore, the decision has been made to
remove the trailer in order to deter those disposing of their trash on our grounds.
After speaking with the owners of The Recycle Center located in Laurie, they have generously offered to “run
a tab” so to speak for our youth. If you would kindly drop your cans off at The Recycle Center and let them
know that they are for the St. Patrick Youth, they will keep track and cut us a check once a month.
The Recycle Center is locate at 604 N. Main St. in Laurie. The phone number is (573) 374-0101. Their hours
of operation are 9:00-4:00 Monday-Friday and 9:00-12:00 on Saturday. Thank you for your generosity in
the past and in advance for your future generosity. These funds provide our youth with wonderful activities.
Rediscover Jesus by Matthew Kelly
POINT TO PONDER: Every person is as important and valuable as the person you consider most
important and valuable.
VERSE TO LIVE: "Give justice to the weak and the orphan; maintain the right of the lowly and the
destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy?” PSALM 82:3-4
QUESTION TO CONSIDER: What is God saying to you through this teaching today?
PRAYER: Jesus, open my eyes so I can see every person I encounter each day as you see them.

The Shrine is working hard to make sure that
every dollar is spent for good cause. The two
graphs will show how funds were spent in
2018 and how we will budget funds for 2019.
As you can see, Capital Improvements is the
largest part of our expenses. We must con-
tinue to maintain the integrity of the Shrine.
We appreciate all our generous donors!

how you can share your time and talent as a member
of your parish community.
Several Ministry Leaders will be available to answer
questions and provide information to help you

re- learned."
" The lesson on the homily was the most interesting."
" Bishop Barron uses simple language to walk you through the Mass."
" Bishop Barron is a master teacher. His presentation is clear and understandable."
" Going to Mass is a privileged encounter with Christ, not just an obligation. Why would anyone stay away?"
