the breaking of bread and to prayer. Acts 2:42

Devoted =Forward + strong or steadfast, To keep moving forward in a steadfast, persistent manner. “To be firm, re-

main faithful, constant, diligent; effort that does not give up, stressing continued action while confidently waiting for results.” Devoted to ____________________________________________________ _________________, __________________ God more ________________, A __________________ prayer life. If you are a graduate, or the parent of a graduate, please follow the link included in the e-news to submit graduate information to King of Kings office. We would like to have names and information by May 15 at the latest. Congregation members will have an opportunity in the coming weeks to send encouraging notes and cards for High School grads by sending them into the Church office to be delivered as a part of our celebration. More details next week. ________________________________________________Youth Event Help Can you help us out with an upcoming youth event? We would normally go out into the community to visit homes, but since we aren’t able to do that, we are looking for people to visit virtually. Meetings will take place over ZOOM on Wednesday, May 20th between 7 and 8pm. If you can help us make this fun and memorable event a reality, contact Tony ([email protected]).

Lord’s Supper Is Available Several King of Kings families have privately received the Lord’s Supper during this time of sheltering. These actions are not a violation of current guidelines and may occur at the church or at home. If you have the desire to receive the Lord’s body and blood this week, please call either Pastor Balvanz (319-350-3276) or Pastor Halvorson (612-205-4104) to schedule an appointment. __________________________________________________ Trinity Lutheran School scholarship applications for the 2020-2021 school year are available at the Opportunities Counter at church. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers this week for… King of Kings members & friends: For all believers in Christ: Easter joy. Thanking God for the resurrection of his Son from the dead and the promise of eternal life for those who trust in Christ. For those who mourn: Sharon Meyer and family at the death of Darwin Meyer; Tammy Mahmens and family at the death of Tammy’s father, Howard Kroemer. For those who are suffering from Covid-19 and other illnesses: Grant healing and recovery, faith in God’s care and presence. We especially pray for God’s protection for those who live in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, which have been the center of several severe outbreaks. For preservation from fear and anxiety: That none be overtaken by the stress of these days, but that God’s promise of unending care for his people sustains our mental and emotional health through faith. For those called to serve in this time of trial: Grant to them health and strength, protection from evil and firmness in faith with the knowledge that they serve you by serving us. For the unemployed and under-employed: That jobs may return soon and all who have lost employment may return to God-pleasing labor for the benefit of their families and to meet the needs of others. For those blessed with abundance: That shortage of medical equipment and required treatments are overcome and the physical and emotional needs of all may be met through God’s abundant provision. King of Kings’ ministries: Attentiveness to worship: That we encourage one another through various means toward faithful worship, even when unable to gather in person, so that God’s gifts and blessings are received and our faith strengthened. The local mission of the gospel: Guide our congregation’s efforts to bring the good news of salvation to our community. Focus our hearts on those near us so that we may be effective witnesses of the gospel. Visitors to King of Kings: That they may be blessed through hearing of God’s Word.

Children’s Ministry Family Five is a short video lesson for all people, it includes a lesson for NOW and a question to discuss with your family LATER. Today's lesson is "The Good Shepherd.” Question for LATER: What things do people do to take care of their pets everyday? What does Jesus do to take care of us everyday?

Families with Sunday School age children are invited to join the Facebook group "KOK Children's Ministry" A place for parents, and those who are interested in Children's Ministry, to share faith building moments and be encouraged in this time.

Join us and see what Albie is up to this week!
