Let’s meet at the Library Many people think of libraries as a place to read or borrow books. But did you know that our libraries offer a wide range of easy to access, free and low cost services and activities for everyone from young mums to older residents? There are book clubs, knitting groups, seniors’ morning teas, interesting discussion groups and author visits. There is even a giant chess board at West Ryde and Ryde Libraries. Technology is a great way to keep in touch and you can use the free WiFi to browse the internet on our free PCs, or use your own tablet, laptop or smartphone. In coming weeks, events include Tablet Basics, Your Shopping Rights, Religion in Nepal and a Kids Club. There is something interesting happening every day of the week at your local library and it’s so easy to get involved. Of course you can also borrow a wide range of printed and electronic books, magazines, newspapers and DVDs.
