Innovative Mazan acrylic glass is the perfect modern wall, shower and feature panel. Ideal for a diverse range of applications throughout both commercial and residential projects, Mazan can be used as an alternative to both traditional glass and ceramic wall tiles. It has the look of stunningly reflective colour backed glass, but is much quicker to accurately shape and install on site and comes at a lower price cost.

WHAT IS MAZAN?Mazan is an affordable, yet dazzlingly beautiful collection of acrylic glass panels for reception areas, retail displays, kitchens, washrooms in fact in all living spaces. It is the 21st century alternative to both ceramic tiles and traditional glass.

It has a standard range of diverse solid and metallic colours and has a thickness of 4mm. This creates a fantastic colour intensity and reflection throughout Mazan’s surface and exposed edges - just like colour backed glass.

Mazan is also available in any RAL colour, enabling you to perfectly match it to other features and materials in your project. Along with this colour match service, Mazan can be uniquely tailored to your space using digital imagery created by you whether it be a real landscape or an abstract scene: quite simply any image can be applied. In addition, digital printing can be specified for stunning modern signage.

Mazan is kind to the environment. It uses much less energy than traditional glass during its production and can be recycled.

Both beautiful and tough, Mazan is a highly durable surface that is 25 times more impact resistant and stronger than glass, so it will not shatter when it is bumped into. It has a high heat resistance (up to 100°C) and will withstand a kettle steaming against it one minute and an icy blast the next.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Mazan is very easy to keep clean using warm water and a microfibre cloth. Non-abrasive cleaning materials are available that are designed to be used with Mazan’s acrylic polymer glass surface. Strong cleaning chemicals are not required. Because Mazan is 100% waterproof, germs will not develop on its clean surface. These natural properties mean that bacteria will have no chance of survival, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene wherever Mazan is specified.

All Mazan panels are protected throughout the installation because both the front and rear surface of each panel have a removable protective film. The front surface protective film is designed to be removed only after the installation is complete to keep the Mazan panels in a perfect condition.

CAN BE CUT ON SITEQuite simply, Mazan has a much lower cost compared to traditional glass. But not only is the product great value, it’s also much quicker to fit, saving valuable time on all installations.

Mazan can be machined to size on site, so once delivered it can be installed immediately, unlike traditional glass which has to be precisely measured and templated first and then manufactured in a specialist workshop before installation can even begin.

This also means that panel cut-outs for plug sockets can be easily formed on site making the installation easier and significantly less costly.

Mazan acrylic glass has an excellent resistance to scratches and the ultraviolet rays from sunlight.

In the unlikely event Mazan panels become accidentally scuffed or scratched, these marks can be simply polished away. Please refer to Mazan`s care and maintenance leaflet for details of this repair process.

Mazan can be thermoformed by specialist fabricators to create shapes and curves ranging from the dramatic to the subtle to bring a seamless, unique quality to your design.

INSTALLATIONMazan`s UK and Ireland distributor is Blackheath Products Ltd, who can assist with any technical assistance that is required during the design and installation stages.

Completely unlike traditional glass, which has to be templated and then machined in a specialist factory, Mazan can be easily cut to size and installed on site using standard woodworking tools. Thus, Mazan avoids the delays and inconvenience of traditional glass and ceramic tile products. Mazan has a comprehensive choice of panel dimensions available from stock. This reduces the number of wasteful offcuts on a project, significantly saving cost and being kind to the environment. The larger panel dimensions (up to 3600mm lengths) ensure potentially unattractive panel joints are minimised.

Mazan`s beautiful metallic colours are directional and so it is important to design a selection of panels that can be installed in the same direction as each other to avoid light reflection colour changes.

EXTRUSIONSMazan is also available with exclusively colour matched extrusions. These ensure an encased finish on internal and external corners as well as panel end sections. The extrusions are available in either a metallic chrome finish or colour coordinated to your chosen Mazan panel. However, most Mazan installations are specified without these extrusions. This allows the brilliantly reflective and highly polished Mazan glass edges to be seen and enjoyed as part of the design.

ADHESIVESMazan is easily bonded to a wall or other installation surface using a low modulus, neutral cure silicone sealant designed specifically for Mazan. This adhesive is readily available from the Mazan UK and Ireland distributor: Blackheath Products Ltd.

GAS HOBSTraditional 6mm thick glass panels, which are colour matched to Mazan, are used as splashbacks in conjunction with Mazan behind gas hobs. Traditional glass panels are not required behind electric, induction or ceramic hobs. Please refer to the Mazan installation brochure for more details.

CUTOUTSCut outs for electrical sockets and other objects can be easily created on site, saving a lot of time and cost compared with glass. It is important to design any cut outs within a Mazan glass panel to have a minimum 8mm radius. The size of electrical components will easily cover this radius. Mazan`s distributor`s technical sales force can always assist with advice for this aspect of a project.

CLEANING & CAREMazan is easy to keep clean using warm water and a microfibre cloth or chamois. For stubborn stains, non-abrasive cleaning materials are available that are designed to be used with Mazan`s acrylic polymer surface. Strong cleaning chemicals are not required. Because Mazan is 100% waterproof, it is completely hygienic and bacteria will not develop on its clean surface.

Unlike tiles and glass, Mazan is tough and will not fracture or shatter. Minor scuffs and scratches can be polished away, repairing the surface to its original high gloss finish. Please refer to Mazan`s care and maintenance leaflet for more details.
