01_Floor-lampAn independent battery-driven reading lamp with a minimal footprint on the ground, and easy adjustment and positioning from its flexible arm. Interchangeable lamp-fixtures ensures that the lamp can be adapted to nearly every type of environment, as it does not require an electric outlet. The floor-lamp delivers only the necessary amount of light for reading by means of an adjustable LED light-source (non heating light-emitting diodes).

02_Lounge chairMade out of thin custom aluminium honeycomb panels, the design and the weight of the lounge-chair is reduced to its minimal expression. Despite its very slim profile, the seating remains comfortable with a thin underlying visco-elastic cushion under the coated pvc seating fabric.

in 1994 at l’Ecole d’Architecture Paris la Seine. he finalised his education in Paris at l’Ecole Spéciale d’Architec-ture in 2002, where he later gradua-ted as a DESA architect.Alongside his studies, andreas aas develops various furniture designs, and he was selected by the Via in 1997 to present his work at the Paris furniture fair. from 1998 his designs are regularly exposed in various ex-hibitions and galleries. Andreas aas present ly works between Fredrikstad (Norway) and Paris as an architect and furniture designer, mostly on private commis-sions.

03_Low tableA low table made out of three different types of profiles in wood or in lightweight fiber concrete. The assembly of the profiles ensures a very sturdy construction, at the same time as it visually appears fragile and lightweight.

03_Suspension lampA small suspension lamp with an optimised glass diffuser. The size of the lamp have been reduced in relation to its custom light diffuser optics. The lamp is small in size, and big in light diffusion.

BreadedEscalope is the ambiguous name of a design studio based in Vienna.It was found in 2008 by Sascha Mikel, Marty Schnabl and Michael Tatschl. The group pursues strate-gies to create “social sustainability”. Objects and environments shall en-courage interaction, lead to commu-nication and add a particular layer of convenience for their owners. Desi-gning things must not end in accus-tomed beautification.

The Performance Product

The PerformanceOriginal Products evolve from a unique process using landscape and interaction as crucial part of the formative process;Selected locations are used as production tracks. A robust, hollow orb is housing a suspended flexible mould of the stools. After filling the mould with a specific mix of resin the orb is allowed to interact with the terrain - surrendered to the formative surrounding.

The rotation is always unique and the variations, subtle or manifest, are recorded by the flexing walls of the silicon mould. Thus, unique pieces are formed via serial production. The Original Stools are the consequence of the omnipresent process, and will always stay in close connection to their place of accruement; A manifestation of place & time.

The Performance Product

Alissia Melka-Teichroew, founder and creative director of byAMT Stu-dio, is a New World-Old World mash-up. Daughter of a French mother and American father, she was born and raised in The Netherlands. A Design Academy Eindhoven graduate, she also holds a Masters from Rhode Is-land School of Design. After stints in Paris, San Francisco, and Boston, she now works in New York.

While developing her own projects, she also worked at IDEO and Puma. Alissia’s transcontinental background is reflected in her fluidity and fluency of her designs. Attuned to the latest design innovations, trends, and ma-terials, she infuses her work with her own unique, charismatic personality

The image of crooked slats in a weathered picket fence impelled Alissia Melka Teichroew to explore the idea of asymmetrical pieces supporting each other. She found a similar kind of irregularity and balancing act in the old-fashioned one-legged milk stool. She merged the two concepts into this playful and innovative series

02_Jointed PiecesJointed Pieces is a work in progress. Normally, a ball joint is unable to be manufactured in one piece using previous techniques like injection-molded plastics or ceramics (it usually has to be made with separately molded pieces). ‘Jointed Pieces’ questions that problem, and finds that 3-D printing is the best way to manufacture complex forms.

Eric Berthès graduated from Ecole Boulle and ESDI (Strate College) in Paris and created his own studio in 2000. First he developed designs for home electronic devices for brands such as Packard Bell and Babyliss. He then dedicated his creativity to luxury goods applying the knowledge he had once learnt in Boulle. Thanks to collaboration with l’Orfèvrerie d’Anjou, a traditional pewter manu-factory, Eric’s contemporary designs with this old fashioned material, contributed to lead them into a mo-dern era. After assuming the role of art director for the brand, Eric then designed an innovative collection of pure and modern objects including buckets, champagne saber and coo-lers, knives.

The new collection for Milan 2010 conveys notions of awkward nature and the passage of time using lighting as the medium. Adelman continues to combine modernist, precisely machined fittings with organic, labor-intensive mouth-blown glass in this group of locally built-to-order light sculptures. This body of work explores the concepts of aging beauty manifested visually in vintage patinas, cracking ancient gold foil, and sandblasted layers of glass, to reveal a warm glow beneath.

The metal armatures resemble skeletal branches and hold glass forms, ranging in appearance from in full bloom to getting on in years and wisdom. Incorporating other hand-made elements such as hand-dyed and knotted rope and jewelry-esque cast bronze hooks the 2010 Bubble Collection looks at once fresh and reminiscent of a forgotten era
