RSA Super Smash Brothers Melee Singles Tournament Rules:!!!General Details:!Singles Double Elimination Bracket (until further notice)!Start Time: 7:00 PM!End Time: 10:00 PM (May vary)!!PRIZES!!1st Place: RSA Micro Fiber Towel, T-Shirt, Nalgene Water Bottle, and other stuff !2nd Place: RSA Water Bottle!3rd Place: Micro Fiber Towel!!Match Format!

- Matches will be in a 1 v 1 !- Items are off, unless both players come to an agreement, in which case !

! fans, swords, bats, umbrellas, star rods, and Mr. Saturn’s are on at Very Low!- 4 stocks, 8 minutes!- Pause is OFF!- Stalling is banned and will result in disqualifications (will elaborate if necessary)!!

Tournament Format!- In the case of a large number of signups, we will be capping at a currently unknown

amount.!- The bracket format will be determined based on signups, it may be a single elimination,

double elimination, or a group format (up to Tournament Organizer’s discretion) !- Tournament bracket will be made using a random generator (aka it’s random assigned)!!

Stage Rules! !

- Players may agree upon any one of the following for a given set:!1. choose to use the Tournament Stage Ruleset!2. play on the neutral stages in the order in which they are listed!3. mutually agree upon any of the stages in the game!!

!! Tournament Stage Ruleset !

- Players will decide amongst themselves who bans first (rock-paper-scissors works well)!- Players will then pick one of the neutral stages through a series of banning called

striking:!- When striking to stages, the first player must ban a stage he do not want to play on.

The second player the responds with his own ban. The sequence of banning goes in said order: 1-2-2-1!

- The losing player of the preceding match chooses a stage from both counter pick or neutral stages for the next match.!

- For Best of 3 sets, the winner player gets 1 stage ban when being counter picked.!- For Best of 5 Grand Finals, no player gets any bans. !- Dave’s Stupid Rule: players cannot counter pick back to a stage that they have already

won on in a match.!- Gentleman’s Clause: Any stage may be played on if both players agree to it. This rule

takes priority over DSR. Players may NOT agree to change the number of matches to be played.!

- If players need further explanation regarding the counter picking system, feel free to ask a nearby T.O. !!

Other Rules!1. The Tournament Organizer is the arbiter of all disputes.!2. Please bring your own controller. If not possible, a few controllers will be provided to each console. Be aware that there may not be enough for all players.!3. DQ Rule: Arriving too late for a match will result in a DQ. Player(s) will have 10 minutes to show up before a loss of the first match. 10 more minutes results in a loss of the set. For doubles, both players on a team need to be present in order to play. !4. No intentionally disrupting players, whether physically or vocally. This applies to EVERYONE, players and spectators. Simply talking to the players (and Hype moments) are exempt.!6. If you’re eating food, please wipe your hands before using the consoles.!7. Leave equipment as you found them (unless you donated them)!!
