We have three scholarships of $600.00 each to be awarded at the San Antonio Conference. Thank you to all those that contributed at the DC Conference for the first year of our scholarship awards.

If you wanted to submit an application and missed this year’s deadline, please go ahead and apply for the scholarships that will be awarded at next year’s conference.

The Scholarship Committee has set up the application form and criteria for the FSPA scholarship and here is a summary of the pro-gram: Must be a high school senior with intentions of attending a 4-year undergraduate program or must be currently enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate program. Must be the child of an employee whose employer is an active member of FSPA and that member must be in good standing. Selection will be made by the Scholarship Committee based on academic achievements, school/commu-nity involvement, and other reasons as expressed by the applicant, and an essay response.

The winner(s) will be announced each year at the annual FSPA Conference in San Antonio (you do not need to be present to win).

The very sad passing of the founder of ComCo Systems:

Harold GreeneOur prayers and thoughts are with his family - and his business family and friendsHarold Ray Greene (September 22, 1927 - May 21, 2015)

Memorial service for Harold Ray Greene 87, of Lake Kiowa are set for Wednesday May 27, 2015 at the Lodge in Lake Kiowa at 2:00 p.m.with the Rev. Larry Kremling officiating. Harold passed away on May 21, 2015 in Denton , Tx.

Harold was born on September 22, 1927 in Terrell, Tx to Samuel Travis and Mickey Ruth Wright Greene. He served in the U. S. Navy and graduated from SMU in 1949 with a degree in Business. He started his own company called Comco Systems in 1968 and is still thriving after 47 yrs of service.

Harold married Marilyn Jean Johnson on April 3, 1959 in Drexel Hills, PA and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage.

Harold is survived by his wife Marilyn Greene, daughters Rebecca Greene Jackson and husband Steve, and Melissa Greene Carder. Grandchildren Travis Jackson and his wife Sonja, Jake Jackson and his wife Lisa, Josh Jackson and his wife Kaya, Lauren and Logan Carder. Great grandchildren Parker Jackson, Zayden Carder and Bree Jackson. Sister Ladye Travis Greene and brother Charles D Greene and mutiple nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Harold Ray Greene Jr.

Note: ComCo Systems was the first (or one of the first) manufacturing sector members joining shortly after NIBESA (now FSPA) was founded by in June of 1973. When ComCo Systems joined in October of 1973, NIBESA got the first all-important manufacturing sector of the membership, so he truly was one of the “founding fathers”.
