Em and her companions, the old man and the talking cat, are searching for signs of Em’s missing sister,the former mistress of the Land of Maybe. But their search has led them to a mystery surrounding amissing girl and a childhood imaginary friend come to life. The father of the missing girl insists onaccompanying them as they journey to the Land of Maybe in search of his daughter, but they find that theway there may be more difficult than they had expected.
