Holiday LuncheonCelebrating
The Mid Valley Claims Association enjoyed a special Holiday Luncheon at the very beautifully decorated Banquet Room at The Reserve at Spanos golf course. It felt like a lovely winter wonder land with sparkling lights and snowflakes on the ceil-ing.President Staci Moreno ask for “heart warm-ing” stories from the crowd and invited a few members to speak.Bryan Harrison gave an update on the Mountain House Feral Cat Rescue they helped found, including a heart-warming story about his sister Vicky and nephew Kevin adopting two kittens
from the group. Following the loss of their cat, Wildflower, they are in love with their new kitties, and greatly enjoying the new additions to their family.Members all brought a new toy to support “Haven of Peace”. The organization provides shelter for the homeless and families in need, located in French Camp, since 1959.Their Executive Director, Olga Rodriguez, gave a heart felt speech thanking Mid
Valley Claims for all their support. She said “when you purchase a gift for a stranger it is really a big deal and I thank you from the bottom of my heart”.MVCA member and one-time President, Beth Os-sino, Claims Manager for Golden Bear Insurance, is an extremely active member of Haven of Peace, donating her time and love to this great community organization. She now serves as Vice President on the Haven board of directors. For more on how you can he lp , go to : www.havenofpeaceinc.org.

as we welcome guest speaker
James Nolt, PEJH Nolt Associates
Electrical, Mechanical & Corrosion Engineers
Please join the Mid-Valley
Claims Association for our
first luncheon meeting of the
new year this Friday, January
15, 2016 (yes, because New
Year’s Day was on a Friday,
the 3rd Friday is this week).
Our featured guest speaker
to kick-off the year will be
Mr. Jim Nolt, PE, of JH Nolt
Associates - Electrical, Mechanical & Corrosion Engineers.
His chosen topic, “Things That Burn In The Night” is a pre-
sentation reviewing the investigation of residential fires Mr.
Nolt has done in the past year or so.
Jim Nolt’s forensic investigation abilities have been honed
over years of education, training, experience in the field and,
he says, “curiosity”.
He is a licensed Professional Engineer in California, as well as
Nevada, Oregon and Hawaii. He earned his BSEE from the
University of Washington, and his MSEE from Stanford. He
tells us he also has an MBA from the “school of hard knocks!” ;-)
Emphasis in this presentation will include what you can do
to prevent home fires in your own residence, as well as hot-
points to consider about fire claims. He will share informa-
tion designed to help increase your awareness of potential
hazards and understanding of the causes and effects of fires.
Please purchase your lunch online now so we have an ac-
curate count, or contact MVCA President Staci Moreno to
