Midlands Co-operative Society is one of the largest and most successful independent consumer co-operatives in the UK with a family of businesses including food stores, funeral services, transport and property. We have recently merged with Anglia Co-operative making us a Society with: 500,000 customers served every week, £1 billion sales each year, 330,000 trading members, a family of 8,600 colleagues, over 420 trading sites, outlets across 16 counties, over £250,000 for local communities, over £250,000 donated to local charities.

Supporting our communitiesMidlands Co-operative is committed to making a real difference to communities in its trading area. Through the Community Dividend Fund scheme, we distribute 1% of trading profits to support communities served by the Society. In 2012, £266,000 was approved by members to distribute to community groups and good causes across the Midlands. Grants have been awarded to causes ranging from developing school playground facilities, providing a local church with furniture for its community room, to restoration of a historic garden, and many more.
