For immediate release
Migros Inc. announced plans yesterday to launch a new chain of refugee centres specifically targeting African
asylum seekers. Though the name of the new franchise has yet to be officially revealed, the new concept will be distinct and complementary to existing refugee centres, with smaller premises offering a more limited
selection of services at value prices.
In the Q2 2015 earnings call, Migros co-CEO Jürgen A. Pestalozzi said leases are already in negotiation with
the plan of centre openings beginning next year. He added that because of what will be a standardized design and product assortment, growth will be rapid.
