school year! This will be my sixth year teaching, and I’ve been lucky enough to be at East Side from the start. In

my free time I enjoy running, re-doing old

furniture, shopping, and spending time with family

and friends.

Journal Home• Every Friday your child will

write a letter to you about what we have done in school all week. Please take the time to respond to them in their notebook.

• The kids get so excited to read their letters from you all!

Specials• We are on an eight day

rotation. Check your child’s planner to find out the specials for the week. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for PE.

Class RulesAs a class we brainstormed all the rules we needed to follow in order to have a successful learning environment.

Be Respectful and Be ResponsibleThe kids wanted to refer to these as “The 2 Rs for Rock Stars”

Class Mission Statement

We did a carousel activity to help us come up with a class mission

statement. I was so IMPRESSED with the students take on our purpose for being here.

“In our classroom we will learn by working hard, taking our time, concentrating and always doing our best. By doing this and following rules we will be on track to attend college, get a great job, and live an amazing life.”

Whole Class RewardsOur class will be working together to earn fans (since we’re rock stars). When we earn 20 fans our class will earn a Grammy, and we will have a Grammy celebration.

Lunch• 11:54 – 12:24• Please sit at the parent or overflow

Birthdays• 22 students• Send any treat in the morning with your child or

contact me prior• Summer birthdays can be celebrated on half

birthdays

• Invitations are only allowed to be passed out if EVERY student in the class is invited. I cannot allow students to pass out invitations to kids in other rooms.

Drop OffOnly drop students off under the overhang.

Students are unsupervised if dropped off before 7:20.

With the construction situation everyone is urged to take the buses!

DismissalPlease be sure to send a note to change your child’s dismissal. Phone calls and emails will not be accepted.

Students being signed out early must be signed out by 2:00
