• Opportunities:
› Provide a bounded, branded experience – optimized to the device
› Build a personal relationship with “subscribers” – not dissimilar to email marketing
› Provides a “lean into,” deep, habitual experience for users
• Challenges:
› Have to build for and distribute to multiple platforms
• Finding the best app-building tools or partners
• Getting noticed in the app store
• Understanding and analyzing performance
• Making the right platform bets/investments
• Figuring out what comes next

Speed, Convenience & Information Key to ETRADING
• Stock trades were early on adapted to the web – the same early adoption is occurring with mobile applications today:
• TD Ameritrade reports 200,000 users log in via mobile applications each month( growing by 1,800 trades each day)
executing about 8% of all DARTs, they operate multiple mobile applications for each trading platform
• E*TRADE reports 6.7% of all traders were “mobile”, up from 4.8% a year ago, they operate 6 mobile applications as well as
video streaming, charts, check deposit functionality
• Exchanges (NYSE & NASDAQ) deliver some services via mobile app as they provide corporate goverance & IR services to
their listed companies
![Page 35: Mobile IR Communications: Today and Tomorrow](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022052411/5562abb6d8b42a7c4a8b512f/html5/thumbnails/35.jpg)

Technology Drives Evolution in the Investment Process
• As a sellside analyst, technology has been key to becoming more effective & efficient and therefore more competitive
(voiceblast technology, publishing software, VPNs, etc)
• And with required business travel, more and more financial information is available via mobile applications (financial news,
charting, stock quotes, video streaming, etc)
• We expect IR departments to disseminate information via multiple channels, quickly, with functionality and optimal
formatting.
• IR information is still currently distributed mostly via smart websites. Many companies are still “considering” mobile
applications. As functionality improves and creativity increases, we suspect more may opt for IR mobile APPS.
