Assembly Instructions

2. General Instructions

Assembly of the ETS Dressing Room is a straightforward procedure, but it does require two people because of the size and weight of many of the components. Please do not attempt to assemble this by yourself.

The only tool required to assemble this dressing room is a #2 Phillips screwdriver to tighten both types of bolts used on this unit.

These instructions have both pictures and text to help guide you through the assembly process. Components are cross referenced to their Item Number in the Parts List which is shown in brackets [ ]. Locations described in the text are given letter designations for additional clarity.

Before starting assembly, be sure to go through the Parts List and identify each component and the quantity to be sure you have everything and generally know what each component looks like.

3. Wall Assembly

You should assemble the wall assemblies starting with the left hand one and proceeding to the right.

a) To create the left wall assembly, you will need the Base Frame, LH [1], the Top Frame, LH [2], three (3) Verticals [3], two (2) panels, and 21 BHCS bolts [22]. NOTE: The Base Frame has threaded nuts welded to it for leveling feet (if needed). The Top Frame does not.

b) Start by sliding the three (3) stubs of base frame [1] into the bottoms of the verticals [3]. The verticals [3] should be oriented so the side with the five threaded holes are facing towards the outside of the ring. Slide these on as far they will go. They should bottom out against the track on the base frame [1].

c) Next, slide the (3) stubs of top frame [2] into the top of the verticals [3]. Slide these on as far they will go. They should bottom out against the track on the top frame [1].

Assembly Instructions

d) Insert and tighten a Set Screw [25] into one of the side threaded holes in the verticals [3] at either end (A and B) (6 screws in total). These will ‘clamp’ the verticals [3] to the base and top frames [1 and 2] so they can’t slip out. Refer to Figure 3-1.

e) To finish the Left Wall Assembly, lay the frame on the ground, convex side up.

f) Place a panel [4] over the frame assembly and align the five (5) holes along the front edge (A) with the corresponding five (5) holes in the center vertical [3].

g) Insert a BHCS bolt [22] into two (2) of the five holes along the back (B) and tighten half way into the the corresponding threaded holes in the rear vertical [3].

h) Repeat this for the front panel [4] using two (2) holes along the front (C) of it and the corresponding holes in the front vertical [3]. Note that the front panel [4] will be overlapping the rear panel [4].

i) Now align the five (5) holes in the front panel [4] with the corresponding holes in the rear panel [4] and the center vertical [3].

j) Insert and tighten a BHCS bolt in each of these holes. Note that it may require some minor position adjustment of these components to get these holes to align.

k) Once this has been completed, install and tighten a BHCS bolt [22] in each of the remaining three (3) holes in front and rear verticals (6 in total) and fully tighten the four (4) BHCS bolts [22] originally used to hold the panels [4] in place. Refer to Figure 3-2.

l) Finish by standing the wall assembly up in its proper orientation and carefully set it aside where it will not get knocked down.

Assembly Instructions

Note that when assembled properly, the holes (D) should be on the right-hand end (as you look at the assembly from the outside) of both the Base Frame, LH [1] and the Top Frame, LH [2]. This will be the front when standing.

Assemble the Right Wall Assembly using exactly the same procedure as the Left Wall Assembly except it uses the Base Frame, RH [5] and the Top Frame, RH [6] in place of the Base Frame, LH [1] and the Top Frame, LH [2], respectively. Note that this is a mirror image of the left assembly. Again, finish by standing the wall assembly up in its proper orientation and carefully set it aside where it will not get knocked down.

4. Door Assembly

You should assemble the doors starting with the left hand one and proceeding to the right as you did with the walls.

a) To create the Left Door Assembly, you will need the Door Assembly, LH [8], one Door Knob Spacer [19], two Door Knobs [20], and the Latch [21]. Start by standing the door assembly [8] upright. Note that the center brace and door knob hole in the door is closer to the bottom than the top.

b) Slide the threaded stud in the end of the door spacer [19] without the relief (A) through the hole (B) in the door assembly [8].

c) Screw one of the door knobs on to the threaded stud sticking through the door assembly [8] and tighten against the face of the door.

d) Next, slide the large hole (C) in the latch [21] on to the small end (D) of the door knob spacer [19]. Be sure the latch curvature is in the same direction as the door curvature.

e) Screw the second door knob [20] on to the threaded stud on the latch end of the door spacer [19]. Refer to Figure 4-1.

To assemble the Right Door Assembly follow exactly the same procedure as the for the Left Door Assembly except use the Door Assembly, RH [9] in place of the Door Assembly, LH [8] and omit the latch [21].

5. Positioning and Final Wall Assembly

Before starting final assembly of the wall assemblies you should position the wall assemblies you completed in Section 3 in approximately the position they will be in relation to the tanning bed. Once the wall assemblies are joined together, the unit becomes more cumbersome to move. By positioning them in close to the proper position, you minimize the movement required. Once these are positioned, check to be sure that the bolt holes (A) are facing towards the front. See Figures 5-1 for positioning of the wall relative to both the 756V/652V and 548V tanning booths.

After you have the wall assemblies properly positioned, move them out slightly from the tanning bed so you can apply the Dressing Room to Bed Seals [7]. These seals are applied to the back face of the rearmost verticals [3] on each wall assembly. To apply the seals, peel the backing paper off of the self-adhesive strip on the back of one of the seals [7]. Starting at the top and working to the bottom of one of the verticals [3], carefully apply the seal [7] so that the edge of the adhesive strip runs parallel to the edge of the vertical [3]. Note that seal [7] should overlap the vertical [3] by approximately 1-1/2”. Once completed, proceed to the other side and apply the other seal [7] to the other rearmost vertical [3] in a similar fashion. Refer to Figures 5-2.

Once the door assemblies have been inserted into the tracks of the corresponding wall assemblies, move the walls in closer to the tanning bed so they are once again positioned in approximately their final position (rubber seals [7] should be touching the booth behind the doors – refer back to Figure 5-1). Next, you will install the Lower Door Track [10]. Place the lower door track [10] on the ground between the wall assemblies. Note that the track [10] will need to go under the edges of the door assemblies sticking out beyond the ends of the wall assemblies. Slide the wall assemblies and/or the door track [10] until the holes in both ends (A) and (B) of the door track [10] align with the corresponding threaded holes in the base frames [1] and [5]. Once aligned, insert and tighten a Flat Head bolt [23] in each of the four (4) holes. Refer to Figures 5-4.

6. Roof Assembly and Installation

Once the main structure of the dressing room has been assembled, you will need to assemble and install the roof on the dressing room.

a) To start, you will need to assemble the roof frame. To do this, you will need the Roof Brace, LH [12], the Roof Brace, RH [13], the Roof Support, Center [14] and eight (8) Flat Head bolts [23].

b) On the floor, lay out the left roof brace [12], right roof brace [13], and center roof support [14] as shown in Figure 6-1.

c) Align the threaded holes (A) and (B) in both ends of the center support [14] with the corresponding holes in the left [12] (C) and right [13] (D) roof braces.

Finally, place the roof panels in the appropriate locations on top of the dressing room. These panels just lay on top of the unit with the vertical features on the edges of the dressing room and roof braces and supports [12], [13], [14] separating them and preventing them from sliding around or falling off of the dressing room. Use rear panels [17] when attached to a 756Vor 652V booth. Use rear panels [18] when attached to a 548V booth. You may need to reposition the dressing room in relation to the booth to fit the rear panels [17] or [18] in place. They should be almost touching the dome of the booth when positioned properly.

Also, for the 548V rear panels [18] you may want to attach them to the roof because of the size of them. If you do, you will need to drill a hole in each of them. To do this, lay the panels [18] in the appropriate locations and apply a mark above where the thread hole has been placed in the top frame components [2] and [6]. Since the roof panels [18] are semi-translucent, you should be able to see these holes through the panels [18] so you can mark them. Once marked, remove the panels [18] and drill a 5/16” hole through each on the mark. Replace the panels [18] on top of the dressing room and screw them down with FLHD bolt [22].

7. Inspection and Test

After the unit has been fully assembled, it is recommended you inspect and test it to make sure everything has been installed and working properly. Here are a few of the most important tests we recommend.

Open and close each of the doors to ensure they roll smoothly and open fully. If they do not, make sure they are mounted in the tracks properly. If they are properly in the tracks, slightly re-position the left and/or right wall assemblies until they do roll smoothly.

Walk inside the dressing room and make sure there are no gaps between the seals and the bed. If there are, adjust the position of the dressing room until they have been closed. If that doesn’t work, you may need to re-apply the seals in a different location. Also, inspect the roof panels to make sure there are no gaps. If there are, make sure the panels have been installed properly and/or adjust their position.

While inside the dressing room, close both dressing room doors and make sure the latch closes fully and properly. If it does not, make sure the latch has been installed properly and the doors are sliding in the tracks properly.
