The aim of this module is to guide students to an understanding of the complexities of managing buildings and the built environment. The focus is less on technology and more on processes and systems. The objectives to be covered in achieving this aim will include: the building design process; building contracts and project management; concepts and realities of sustainable development; surveying, measurement, maintenance and redevelopment of existing buildings; building energy performance; the complexities of designing large commercial and residential buildings.
