Q: What do you like about the new Waterfront areas? “I like the location of the Clock Watefront and also that now is very clean. He likes the new facilities where you can sit, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. You can park, bring your friends and have lunch and you don’t have to pay anything!” Q: What would you like to see more on the waterfront? “It will be nice to have night market, where people can sell their goods, food, or even a cultural center where tourists can come and learn from our culture.” Q: What do you like about the new Waterfront areas? “It encourages community living and environmental protection as the area used to be dangerous and very dirty. Now there are green spaces and a better used of the space… you can come with your family and have a picnic.” Q: What would you like to see more on the waterfront? “Areas for water sports and more playground areas for kids as there is not many activities families can do with their children in Samoa.“ People’s Voice

Police o�cers at the new mobile security station at the Apia Waterfront Park

The police has estab-lished a 24 hours police mobile station next to the Clock Tower Boule-vard to protect the properties and the people in the new Apia Waterfront Project. The patrols will also cover all the way to Mulinuu road.

Tupai Latu Posi is a Senior Technical Engineer for the Electrical Power Corporation. An experienced electrician who has worked with EPC for more than 20 years. Tupai has been the project’s main contact person for coordinating the relocation of EPC electricity lines, installing of new ones to ensure safe and adequate electricity supply is provided to the new developed areas. Tupai and his team at EPC have been very supportive of the Waterfront Project from the start and we look forward to continuing this partnership.

Police Security 24h

Friendship park update

Construction of the Friendship Park behind the Government Building is progressing well, with 50% of the work completed. The poor weather conditions in the past few months caused some delay. Completion date is now scheduled for the end of January 2020. The contractor and the utility provider are working collaboratively to relocated existing pipes and cables unearthed during earthworks. Majority of drainage works have been completed, construction of seating for open lawn theatre and footpaths are ongoing. The children’s playground is about 90% complete which includes a stake park, wall climbing, and a sandpit for the children to play in. The volleyball court has also been handed back to the contractor after the Pacific Games for installing of shade structure and complete other works.
