Motivational Quote – 25 pts Due: September 13th

Select an inspirational quotation you have seen or heard that motivates you. It may be a slogan read in an advertisement, a phrase heard in a song, read in a book or seen in a movie, or a saying someone has told you.

Your quotation should be written or typed on an unlined large index card or piece of unlined poster paper/construction paper no smaller or larger than the size of a piece of computer paper folded in half. You must give credit to the source of the quote somewhere on the front. I will be evaluating the assignment based on the following:

Motivational Essay – 100 pts Due: September 20th

It is important to identify what motivates us not only as competitors, but as learners and human beings as well. What motivates you to strive for your best in any given circumstance? Your motivation may be derived from multiple sources. Think about inspirational people, sayings, memories, incentives, etc. that push you to succeed. It may help to recall an experience or event in your life when you have had to face a challenge or adversity. What pulled you through?

In a 2 page (5 paragraph) minimum essay, describe your source(s) of motivation. Use specific examples to illustrate the extent of your drive to succeed and that which contributes to your drive and determination. Be sure to use an original title and follow the essay guidelines distributed in class.
