During our Prep Open Day on the 8th of August, we warmly welcomed twenty new students into
our school community. The aending girls and boys were all keen to par cipate in the prepared
ac vi es and appeared delighted to finally be ’at school’. Next Tuesday our Sail into Prep
program will commence and will run for 8 Tuesdays from 9-11am. This program is designed
specifically to create a smoother progression from home /daycare/kindy to school for students
and their families. Par cipa ng students are requested to wear sun safe play clothes, enclosed
shoes and a broad brimmed hat, and bring a piece of fruit for Munch and Crunch. Whilst our 2018 Prep students are becoming more
familiar with the Prep environment and teachers, our 2017 Prep students will be following their regular morning learning rou nes with
Mrs Charge in the Music Room. Parents involved with the Pre-Prep program will meet in the Prep classroom and then move across to
the school library. We look forward to con nuing to get to know our new Prep students and new families over the coming months.
A number of our students have been unwell over recent weeks. Please take some me to remind your children of rou ne hygiene
habits, such as covering their mouth and nose with a ssue, flushing the toilet and carefully washing their hands. We can also be
proac ve during this flu season by ensuring that everyone is ge3ng adequate sleep, drinking plenty of water, turning their head away
from others when coughing and sneezing, frequently washing their hands (par cularly before touching food) and ea ng a nutri ous
diet. Together we can help all students develop life-long healthy habits.
Finally, a couple of reminders: Parent-Teacher Interviews are scheduled for Tuesday 29 August to Friday 1 September If you have not
contacted Mandy in the office, please give her a call or pop in to book a suitable me to meet with your child’s teacher. Each mee ng
is only 15 minutes, however this me is invaluable because individualised informa on regarding your child’s progress and specific
learning needs is covered. Parent School Opinion Surveys need to be completed online before Friday 25 August. If your internet
service is unreliable, you are most welcome to use a computer in our school library. Please see Mandy
and she will help you log on to complete the survey. Your input is always appreciated.
Warm regards
Susan
