SYSTEM DISTURBANCE August & September-2013

System Disturbance / System Incidence : 1. System Disturbance on 03.08.13 at 220KV S/s Malanpur : On dated 03.08.13 at around

22:18Hrs MP system was running normal at frequency 49.82 Hz with N-E-W grid. At around 22:20 Hrs. there was a transient fault on 132KV Malanpur-Ambah Ckt. (Radial Feeder) but the breaker of the same Ckt. did not trip (due to mechanical problem) and the fault was carried to 132KV Bus at 220KV S/s Malanpur, resulting 220/132KV, 160 MVA BHEL X’mer & 160 MVA CGL X’mer tripped at 220KV S/s Malanpur and 132KV Malanpur-Mehgaon Ckt. tripped from 220KV S/s Mehgaon end. Hence 132KV Supply failed at 220KV S/s Malanpur, 132KV S/s Ambah, 132KV S/s Morar, 132KV S/s Banmore, 132KV S/s Morena (Radially fed from 132KV S/s Banmore). There was consumer load loss due to this tripping of about 118.36 MWH for approx. 01 Hour 40 Minutes. System was normalized in due course of time.

2. System Disturbance on 05.08.13 at 220KV S/s Shujalpur : On dated 05.08.13 at around 16:25 Hrs MP system was running normal at frequency 50.07Hz with N-E-W grid. At 16:28 Hrs, Earth Wire of 132KV Shujalpur-Pachore Ckt broke and fault was carried to 220/132KV, 160 MVA X’mer-I,II&III and hence tripped these X’mer’s & 132KV Shujalpur-Pachore Ckt. tripped on Backup protection. Also 220KV Shujalpur-Shujalpur PGCIL Ckt-I&II tripped from 400KV S/s Shujalpur PGCIL end & 220KV S/s Shujalpur end respectively. Consequently interruption occurred at 132KV S/s Pachore. There was consumer load loss due to this tripping of about 7.4 MWH for approx. 37 Minutes. System was normalized in due course of time.

3. System Disturbance on 16.08.13 at 220KV S/s Shivpuri : On dated 16.08.13 at around 17:55 Hrs MP system was running normal at frequency 49.87 Hz with N-E-W grid. At around 17:58 Hrs. there was flash over on the Auxiliary Bus side isolator of 132KV Shivpuri-Kolaras Ckt. (Radial Feeder) and Breaker of the same feeder did not trip which in turn created the 132KV & 220KV Bus Fault at 220KV S/s Shivpuri. Consequently 132KV Interconnector–I&II, 220KV Shivpuri-Bina (PGCIL) Ckt., 220KV Shivpuri-Bina (MPPTCL) Ckt., 220KV Shivpuri-Sabalgarh Ckt.-I&II tripped and hence interruption occurred at 220KV S/s Shivpuri and 132KV S/s Kolaras.
