    Teens are modeling identity through

    social network profiles so that they canwrite themselves and their community

    into being.

    Into 2004, 87% of teenagers age 12-17have some level of internet access. In

    2006 55% of online teens have created

    profiles on social network sites.

    Disenfranchised teens- without internetaccess, whos parents succeed in banningthem from participation and those who onlyhave internet access through school andpublic services which ban these sites

    Conscientious objectors- include politicallyminded individuals who protest againstMurdochs News Corp, teens who agree withtheir parents concerns and safety morals,

    teens that feel out of place by joining up tothese sites and those who feel like they aretoo cool for these sites.
