Handmade cards by Gill Holt are once again on sale in Church. The cards are on display behind the back pew which will enable you to stop and have a look at them in a Covid friendly way as you leave church.

Church School Governors Being the Governor of a Church school is a very important Christian ministry

and a wonderful way of supporting Christian communities and giving children

and young people the chance to experience the Christian faith in action.

Chester Diocese is looking for committed Christians from all walks of life to

support the children and young people in their schools by taking on the role of

foundation governor (appointed to support and develop the Christian

distinctiveness of a church school). This is also a great opportunity for

Christians to support our churches and schools as they work together with

families in the Growing Faith adventure. If you feel you could help Church

schools in this way or would like more information, please contact the Deputy

Diocesan Director of Education, Sue Noakes ([email protected])

ALL SAINTS COVID QUESTIONNAIRE We would really appreciate your opinion on how we move forward in the light of the Government removing restrictions. Please can you fill in the online survey at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/RJNFG37 If you receive the notices by post, please fill in the paper copy of the questionnaire and return to the office. There will also be paper copies available at the back of church. Thank you!

Cheerful Givers Lunch To all our guests and volunteers,

Due to a very low uptake on people wishing to come back in to the church centre at this present time due to current circumstances, both Paula and myself have decided that for the foreseeable future we will stay with deliv-ering the meals to you. Hopefully we can reassess the situation in the com-ing months.

We fully respect people's feelings on this situation so will do our best to keep you all safe whether guests or volunteers we care for you all.

Blessings

Paula & Andy.

UPDATE ON HOOLE PRIMARY SCHOOL FROM MRS FLANDERS (HEADTEACHER) After months of planning, designing, growing and nurturing...finally the Tatton Flower Show dates were upon us. A delegation of staff and pupils attended the show site on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th July to build the school garden in our allocated spot within the designated area on the showground. Mrs Sarah Jones, our Forest School Leader and Mrs Rachel Inns have led our efforts for the show and were on hand to supervise activities to ensure that the garden appeared just as the children had planned. After two days of hard toil, adjusting plans and adding final touches, the garden was complete! On Wednesday 21st July, the show opened in bright sunshine. A team of staff and enthusiastic pupil volunteers manned the garden every single day of the show. The children manning the gar-den wore bright headbands and garlands to identify them to members of the public who wanted to discuss our garden ideas. A team of volunteer pupils attended the show every day from Wednesday to Sunday 25th July. After a shy start initially each day, the teams of children soon found their confidence and got into their full flow - approaching adults and explaining to them how our garden reflected the values and vision of our school. Our pupil representatives talked confidently about how the pandemic ocean and the scary forest area represented the frightening and uncertain times we had gone through with the global pan-demic but how, by keeping on going, staying hopeful and on the right path heading towards the light, we had overcome the challenging times we had faced. The lighthouse structure in the centre of the garden reflected our school vision of 'let your light shine' and how the light of the love of Jesus illuminates our way at all times, including when we are lonely, anxious or afraid. The values we promote in our school such as kindness, koinonis and compassion were hung proudly from the lighthouse. The pupils explained how every child in our school family had been involved in creating our gar-den and pointed out features such as the models created for the pandemic ocean by each class. Just like the lighthouse shining in the middle of our school garden, the preparations for Tatton have been a light relief for staff and pupils during the challenges we have faced this year. When we have struggled with having to adapt and adjust plans in other areas, we have held steadfastly to our commitment to the Tatton Show. The dedication and drive of Mrs Jones and Mrs Inns and their enthusiasm for our school garden has been a tonic in school and watching this develop over recent months has been a source of constant joy. I am extremely proud of the staff and pupils in that they have remained true to the premise that this was a garden created and produced by the children. Although corners could have been cut in the light of COVID related issues and self-isolations to make things easier, shortcuts had not been taken as this would have reduced the children's involvement and diminished the experience. Standing back at the show on Saturday, it was joyful to see children talking so confidently about the garden, horticulture and the natural world. This happened because they had been involved in the full experience of designing, growing and creating. The feedback from the public was tremendous about the garden and the quality of the children's explanations and contributions. In addition to the visitor book which adults were invited to write in after viewing our garden, I have received countless messages of commendation from adults who were at the Tatton Show and had enjoyed our garden. The garden - our beacon of hope over this school year has ignited a flame we are going to keep shining! Many of our pupils have developed a love of horticulture and have begun to show in-creased interest in their own gardens. We are already thinking about next year's Tatton Show! If we can do it so successfully in this challenging year, the sky is the limit for next year!

SUPPORTING CATHY’S WORK IN MADAGASCAR

Following Sunday’s sermon, if you wish to give a donation to support Cathy Armstrong’s work in Madagascar before she returns in October, cash can be given to the church office in an envelope marked ‘Madagascar’ or can be paid electronically to All Saints Hoole, Sort Code: 20 20 46, Account Number: 70108855 using the descriptor ‘Madagascar’. Cathy has suggested the money could go straight into the ‘poor fund’ in the hospital, which is largely used to help pay for some or occasionally all of someone’s hospital bill if the family really have no way of paying. Another idea would be to purchase another observation machine of some sort for us nurses to use on the ward. She bought one last year with the money from Deo Gratias Choir and the machine on the surgical ward has since broken too!

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
