Our Time Here

We first liked the spacious and light atmosphere along with the property’s character, as it used to be a pub. It provides plenty of living accommodation and has it’s own unique history, which was an aspect of the house that we really enjoyed about it. We’ve lived here for the past 38 years, and have found the rooms very flexible, ideal for a growing family and changing lifestyle over the years. Our favourite room was always the sitting room, which is sunny in the summer months and cosy in the winter. We had some work done a few years ago, and since then the open-plan garden room in the centre of the house has become the place we spend the most time in. We find it very informal; it catches the early sun in the morning we particularly enjoy sitting in there relaxing with copious cups of coffee. When people visit, we always gravitate there to sit and chat, and there is plenty of off-street parking for them. We’re in a quiet corner of Littlebourne, just across the road from the river. The village has a shop, a school, allotments, a GP a church and everything you could really need day-to-day, but there are also bus services into Canterbury, which is only 10 minutes away. We like the fact that we can get to Canterbury so quickly and easily, but we also visit Deal quite often. Perhaps the best thing about the location are the many countryside walks. This has been a great family home and it’s very special to lots of people. We’re looking for somewhere smaller now, but we will cherish the many happy memories of our time here.
