Narrative Assignment

You are to write a short story of 250-500 words. Your story must contain all

of the exposition elements we are currently studying. (See spiral notes on page 23

including dialogue).

You many use any genre you wish: mystery, science-fiction, western, magic,

myth, soap opera, history, romance, comedy, etc.

The assignment will be graded on the following:

Ability to effectively and appropriately use all of the elements

that create a story (plot, conflict, character, mood, atmosphere,

climax, rising action, falling action, resolution, theme,

denouement, exposition, setting, dialogue, title, and author)

Typed in 14 point Times New Roman or Calibri font.

Appropriate format of 1” margins on all 4 sides. Do not double

space.

Mastery of grammar and punctuation. (spelling, comma use,

capitalization, dialogue punctuation, etc.)

This story will be an expansion of the one you wrote on February 12th.
