Call Executive Travel’s Group Department today at 402-435-8888. Space is limited.

Dear Women of Nebraska,

Mother Nature took her time when she went to work on America’s most dramatic natural playground; Yellowstone. The myriad sights guarantee us days of thrills as we experience Old Faithful Geyser, a part of Upper Geyser Basin which contains at least 150 gushers, Yellowstone Lake, and Yellowstone Canyon. But Yellowstone National Park is not the only highlight of our tour!

Through a colorful journey, we will experience the “Wonders of the West” as we travel through stunning scenery, admire the herds of bison, elk, Rocky Mountain goat, mule, deer, and listen to the roar of the waters.

We will visit Mt. Rushmore and the astounding monument of four Presidents, Crazy Horse Memorial, built in honor of the Lakota Chief, and drive through the Black Hills National Forest with its timbered mountains, rugged rock formations, canyons, grasslands, streams, and lakes, which are only a few of the highlights.

We will listen to stories of Buffalo Bill and Jane Calamity, feel the power of the sacred site of Devil’s Tower, and unwind in the cowboy-town of Jackson after touring Grand Teton National Park. At the end of the trip, you may even dip your toes in Bear Lake’s turquoise-blue water!

One grand overlook after the other, that’s what awaits on this spectacular journey, so come, join me, solo or two-by-two. Invite your girlfriends to join you or make new friends - even share a room with a new friend - we will introduce you ahead of time.

Sincerely,Ann K. BruntzWomen of Nebraska Ambassador

located between the White and Cheyenne Rivers. Spectacular examples of weatherings, erosions, fantastic ridges, cliffs, and canyons of variegated colors ...cameras ready, ladies! Among the inhabitants are bison, bighorn sheep, and prairie dogs, and skeletons of three-toed horses and saber-toothed cats are among the many fossilized species found here. The evening’s cowboy-cookout is spent at Fort Hays “Dances with Wolves” movie set, to see some of the original buildings used in the Oscar-winning film and enjoy a delicious supper with a bit of western entertainment. June 11, 2021 (Friday)Mount Rushmore - Crazy HorseAfter a hearty breakfast, we are off to visit Mt. Rushmore featuring the awesome sculptures of Washingon, Jefferson, Roosevelt, and Lincoln. In the early 1920s, area historians were brainstorming ideas to attract visitors to South Dakota. One suggested sculpting figures of historic people from the West out of natural granite pillars. Sculptor Gutzon Borglum suggested that four presidents whose legacies involved important events in U.S. history would draw more national attention. It took 400 men more than a decade to build Mount Rushmore. Many of them were miners who came to the Black Hills in search of gold but when their searches failed, they took work for $8 per day constructing and carving the mountain. Luckily, no artistic skills were required because 90 percent of the mountain was carved using dynamite and jackhammers! The men helped to remove nearly 450,000 tons of rock. The resulting faces of Mount Rushmore stand 60 feet tall; Washington’s nose is 21 feet long. The project took 14 years to complete but would have taken even longer if funding hadn’t run out. Initially, the carvings were to present the presidents from the waist up. When the monument was four years away from completion, Congress introduced a bill proposing that women’s rights advocate Susan B. Anthony be included in Mount Rushmore. Unfortunately, it was dismissed because funding was only approved for the carvings that had already been started. We continue onto the Crazy Horse Memorial, still in progress. We will take a look at the giant mountainside sculpture of the famous Indian Chief astride his pony. Dinner is served at Mount Rushmore to see the American treasure illuminated in a whole new light. June 12, 2021 (Saturday)Deadwood - Devil’s Tower - SheridanAfter a filling breakfast, we travel to Deadwood, made famous by “Wild Bill” Hickok, the folk hero of the Old West, and Calamity Jane, both buried in the town’s Mt. Moriah Cemetery on Boot Hill. Later today, we will stop to visit the Devil’s Tower. From miles away, you will get your first glimpse of the Tower but it becomes even more impressive as you walk the base and view it from all angles. It is a pleasant walk and enjoyable for all skill levels. The dramatic geologic feature that juts out of the rolling prairie became the first national monument in our country in 1906. It is considered a sacred site to multiple Native American tribes, including the Kiowa, Sioux, and Blackfeet, and

June 9, 2021 (Wednesday)Rapid City Our wonderful adventure begins as we fly to Rapid City, SD, where we will spend our first three nights. Upon arrival, we meet our local tour director who will be traveling by our side from arrival to departure. We have arranged a transfer to our hotel and the remainder of the day is yours to relax and unwind.

In South Dakota, Rapid City is the largest city west of the Missouri River and also the state’s second-largest city. Known as the Gateway to the Black Hills, it is our starting point on this unforgettable journey to the best-ever national parks our country has to offer. It is also commonly known as the “City of Presidents” because of the life-size bronze president statues located downtown and home to popular attractions such as Art Alley, a community gallery where artists hung largely canvas artworks on the walls, and over time, evolved to painting directly on the walls, Storybook Island, the children’s park filled with sets that portray characters from various children’s stories, fables, and nursery rhymes, and you will also be able to enjoy Chapel in the Hills, the stave church built in the style of the original “stavkirke” of Borgund, Norway. If you are a Dinosaur-buff, you shouldn’t miss the famous Dinosaur Park containing seven dinosaur sculptures on a hill overlooking the city! The city’s Main Square is a cozy place to people-watch and get a good feel of the vibes of this friendly city. The fountains found on Main Street have the water dance and play to a set pattern and lights are added when

the sun goes down to provide a show worth seeing!

June 10, 2021 (Thursday)Badlands National Park - Fort HaysWe will enjoy our breakfast before heading out to the unusual Wall Drug Store. At this fun mall, you will be able to enjoy a range of cool shops including the Wall Bookstore, jewelry shops, western apparel and hat stores, an art gallery, and pick your own favorite pair of shoes from Minnetonka moccasins to cowboy boots at the numerous western-wear shops. Wall Drug Store is also famous for its “free ice water and 5 cent cup of coffee”, the best doughnuts in the state, and much more. Then off to Badlands National Park,

its “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”, which was included in the Spielberg 1977 film. In the late afternoon, we arrive and check in to our hotel in the cattle-town of Sheridan, situated at the foot of the Bighorn Mountains. Steeped in Old West history, this is a place to see what life was like as a cowboy, rancher, or pioneer along the Westward migration trails. Historical sites and exhibits illuminate the turmoil of the Indian Wars. The evening is yours to relax and enjoy Sheridan. B

June 13, 2021 (Sunday)Cody - West YellowstoneThis morning, we will head further west, to Cody, the town named for “Buffalo Bill” Cody. This gentleman was born near LeClaire in Scott County, Iowa, in 1846, rode for the Pony Express at the age of 14, fought in the American Civil War, served as a scout for the Army, and was already an Old West legend before mounting his famous Wild West show, which traveled the United States and Europe. We will visit the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, a very interesting museum of Native American culture, natural history, and western art. Make sure to swing by the museum shop. You will find a great selection of souvenirs to take home with you. Later in the afternoon, we enter Yellowstone National Park, the world’s first national park established in 1872. The following two nights will be spent in West Yellowstone, a gateway town to Yellowstone National Park sitting at the west entrance. Dinner is enjoyed among your fellow travelers. B | D

June 14, 2021 (Monday)Yellowstone National ParkAfter a rich breakfast, we are off to explore Yellowstone National Park. With over 10,000 hot springs, thundering waterfalls, geysers, and endless forests, Yellowstone inspires awe! Make sure to have your cameras ready and your phone’s battery charged, as this will be a day of some serious photo shooting. By embracing Yellowstone, you are opening yourself up to the essential American frontier experience, for which there is neither substitute nor rival. Yellowstone is home to continental America’s largest collection of mega-fauna, half of the planet’s geothermal hotspots, and nearly 2,000 species of plants. Yellowstone Caldera is one of the world’s largest super volcanos, a snarling beast that never ceases to spew lava, rock, and steam onto the earth’s surface. Yellowstone is nothing short of America the Beautiful! Mother Nature took her time when she went to work on Yellowstone and the myriad sights are ideal for thrill-seekers. We guarantee you a day of thrills as we experience Old Faithful Geyser, Yellowstone Lake, and Yellowstone Canyon. We return to West Yellowstone to enjoy an evening at leisure. Stroll the fun shops and find your favorite place for a hearty meal tonight; the choices are many. B

June 15, 2021 (Tuesday)Grand Teton National Park - JacksonWe enjoy our breakfast and then travel south, through Grand Teton

National Park, a 485-square mile scenic park featuring the Teton Mountain Range, one of the youngest ranges on the continent. Lakes, glaciers, wildlife, and snowfields dot the vistas. This will be yet another day of making the greatest memories and adding to your personal photo album; it will be hard to pick the best when you return back home! We arrive in the quiet cowboy town of Jackson Hole for an overnight stay. This city has developed into an amazing getaway for people of all walks of life where the Old West and New are splendidly combined. Enjoy a laidback evening and be sure not to miss the four elk-antler arches at Jackson’s Town Square, a great meeting place, a shopping and dining hub, or just a place to relax. Visit the colorful Million Dollar Cowboy Bar with its saddle-shaped barstools before calling it a night. B

June 16, 2021 (Wednesday)Salt Lake CityAfter breakfast, we travel into Utah. Our route takes us along the shores of the beautiful Bear Lake before climbing the Wasatch Mountains. The lake has been called the “Caribbean of the Rockies” for its unique turquoise-blue color, which is due to the refraction of calcium carbonate (limestone) deposits suspended in the lake. Build a sand-castle in Bear Lake’s whitest, most pristine sand in Utah, dip your toes in the shallow water or go for a swim! This is also an area of succulent red raspberry production. We arrive in the “City of Saints” founded by Brigham Young in 1847. Salt Lake City has the spirit of a metropolitan giant and the heart of a small town. Locals are friendly, engaging, and always eager to show off their city - don’t be surprised if you are invited out for coffee or an organic smoothie. We will enjoy a panoramic Salt Lake City tour featuring Temple Square with its lovely landscape and famous Tabernacle, the State Capitol, and the University of Utah - site of the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics. We have arranged a wonderful farewell dinner tonight. B | D

June 17, 2021 (Thursday)Return homeAfter breakfast, we head to Salt Lake City airport for our return flight back home filled with wonderful memories of our Best-Ever National Parks tour. B
