HISTORY
Noodle Box was founded by Josh James and David Milne in
1996. Legend has it the two young entrepreneurs were on a
world trip where they discovered ice cream being served in
a convenient and classy box, and South East Asia where they
their return to Melbourne they decided the time was right to
the retail and fashion heart of the city. The Chapel Street store
was a resounding success, and in 2002 Noodle Box began
offering franchises. Since then, Noodle Box has been expanded
to become the fastest growing Noodle Franchise in Australia

Building your store is a process that has been perfected
over the last 14 years.
We partner with award winning designers and speciality
construction of all Noodle Box stores.
During the store building process, Noodle Box will provide
a project manager to look after your store build. Theproject manager will be your main point of contact and
perform the following functions:
Liaison on the proposed design plans and layout of the store;

programs and workshops called The Box.
The Box includes training systems to suit a variety of
learning environments in order to support you, allowing

of 3 months (4 weeks actual time in total) and is dividedinto the following 3 modules:

Upon successful preliminary approval of Stage 2 in the
application process, you will be required to submit a 5
year Business Plan.
The business plan is the plan for success. We feel very

ARE THE FRANCHISES AVAILABLEFOR EXISTING STORES OR NEW STORES?
The franchises available are for new stores only. From
time to time, existing stores becomes available for sale
and we can refer you to the appropriate franchisee
associated with such a site. In some cases an existing
store may cost less than a new store, in other cases the

As the franchise will be for a new store, costs can vary
subject to the location of the store, size and existing services
$280,000 - $350,000 (Excluding GST), excluding the franchise
fee. (See Disclosure Document for more details.)
WHAT OTHER COSTS ARE YOU LIKELY TO INCUR?
In addition to the real cost of the store and the Noodle
Box franchise fee there are other costs associated with thesetup of any new business and that we recommend you
should take into consideration including initial capital for
stock requirements, etc. This would be discussed with you
at a later stage, however we encourage all applicants to
seek advice on these matters. We recommend that you
have back up capital of $50,000 and $100,000 to invest in
local area marketing to market the opening of your store.
WHAT FEESARE PAYABLE TO NOODLE BOX?
An initial franchisee fee is payable on all stores. You also
pay a monthly royalty and marketing contribution that
is based on a percentage of sales. Additional fees are
required in the event of renewal or an approved transfer
of the franchise to another franchisee.
