Eir required an on-demand, mobile enabled platform that delivered a consumer-grade learner experience. learningCloud also allows Eir to take advantage of the interoperable feature-set to integrate the platform within their existing digital infrastructure

In order to ensure they stay competitive and can continually address the changing job-skill requirements for an enterprise organisation, Logicearth have integrated a 3rd party content catalogue into learningCloud.

Logicearth Learning Services are thought leaders in the design and development of modern and high impact online learning programmes.With o�ces in Belfast and Dublin and established by the owners Peter Carlin and Paul McKay in 2010, they specialise in providing Enterprise eLearning content development services, SMART eLearning Library management, and the latest learning

technologies. Servicing customers across the UK, Ireland & USA they deliver solutions to medium-sized and enterprise customers such as eir, Capita, Analog Devices & Allianz.

Netex's cloud-based learning software have been integrated into the solutions Logicearth have been delivering to their customers since 2011. Initially using Netex’s SaaS authoring tool, learningMaker to create content, delivered through the LMS platform, learningCentral. More recently Logicearth have been delivering Netex’s next generation learner engagement platform, learningCloud to their clients.

Evans Cycles is a privately-owned business which has expanded steadily in recent years and now has more than 60 stores which it views as ‘the heart and soul of the company’.

Most of its store employees are enthusiastic cyclists themselves. Evans encourages this enthusiasm with extensive training to make sure it o�ers the highest levels of technical ability and knowledge. The company prides itself on giving

customers the right information.

It was important to Evans to maintain the highest standards at its stores. But this was proving increasingly challenging. Evans Cycles Training Manager Nick Coley explains: “We perceived that our old learning system was proving costly and time-consuming to run. The user experience was often quite ‘clunky’ and much of the content was still paper based.”

Evans concluded that the priority was for a new on-boarding programme. This would introduce company starters in retail teams to the Evans’ service stand.

SolutionEvans considered several solutions before settling on their �nal choice. In the event, they turned to learningCloud, from Netex, complete with the gami�cation and curation app learningPlay, to manage its new learning content. learningCloud o�ers a learner-centric user experience by adopting an application based approach. This provides a completely personalised learning environment.

learningCloud’s app-based style also o�ered the consumer-level type experience that Evans were looking for. But importantly, as part of this solution, they were able to add learningPlay which was to provide the game mechanics. This system uses cutting-edge game-based mechanics to ensure maximum learner engagement.

ResultsUsing the learningMaker tool, Evans Cycles created some media-rich, video intensive modules which were important to their business. These included subjects such as: how to engage with customers, how to use in-store technology and interactive product knowledge videos.

These self-created modules formed an integral part of Evans Cycles’ new virtual learning world now called the Evans Cycles Veloversity.

The Evans Cycle Videos were shot using real employees whose enthusiasm is infectious and engaging .

The L&D team then used gami�cation via the learningPlay platform to create individual tiers of learning that colleagues could progress through to achieve ‘product expert’ status. By linking levels with rewards and brand-discounts the team encouraged all its customer-facing sta� to participate. This has proved to be a huge success with the employees.
