New Features in CaTissue Suite 1.2
• Able to restrict Storage Containers at the level of specimen type.• Previous version only allowed for restrictions at the level of specimen class.
• Able to define a default a set of clinical diagnosis that pertain to a Collection Protocol
• Three types of Saved Queries• My Quires• All Quires• Shared Quires
• Key Word Search
• New Auto Labeling Feature
Auto Labeling
• caTissue Suite has a specimen label auto generation framework
• For modified formats, Java code plug-in must be written by adopters
• Different protocols might have different labeling schemas –> Java code would need to be modified as new schemas are introduced
Auto Labeling – New Features
• New auto labeling feature allows:
• Administrator to set different schemas at the CP level
• Use of different fields as part of the specimen label
Auto Labeling - Flow
• Administrator creates collection protocol and defines various events along with specimen requirements.
• Administrator sets label formats for individual specimen requirements level or at the protocol level.
• Once the specimens are collected, labels are auto generated based on the label format that has been set.
Auto Labeling – Tokens Avaialble
• Available tokens• PPI: For adding participant protocol id in specimen
label.• SP_TYPE: For adding specimen type abbreviation.• YR_OF_COLL: for adding year of collection of
specimen.• SYS_UID: For adding default label.• PPI_YOC_UID: For adding sequence number related to
specific PPI and year of collection.
Auto Labeling – Tokens Avaialble
• PSPEC_LABEL: For adding Parent specimen label.• PSPEC_UID: For adding sequence number based on
parent specimen label.• CP_DEFAULT: For using the same label format as
specified at CP level.
Storage Containers
• In previous version of CaTissue Suite, the user could only restrict the storage containers at the level of the CP and Specimen Class
• Tissue• Cells• Fluid• Molecular
• In CaTissue Suite 1.2, users may go one more level and restrict the storage container at the level of the specimens type.
• Plasma• Serum• Frozen Cell Pellet• Cryopreserved Cell• Frozen Tissue• Fixed Tissue• DNA• RNA
Storage Containers
• Navigate to the Administrator Tab• Select Storage Container• Select Add• Select the type of storage container to be created• Select the proper Parent Container• If you want to restrict the container by CP, select the appropriate CP• Select the specimen class• Go to specimen Type.• By default all the specimen types for a class will be shown in the box. Simple
remove the specimen types that are not need, or add the specimen types back to the box by selecting them from the drop down list.
• Submit.

Storage Containers
Storage Container : Tips
• User must select the Specimen type if the storage container has a specimen Class (s) assigned by default. If the user does not select the specimen type, then by default all specimen types for that class are selected.
Clinical Diagnosis
• In previous version of CaTissue Suite the user could not define a set of clinical diagnosis that might pertain to a Collection protocol. The user would need to select a clinical diagnosis at the SCG level from the drop down list that contained all available clinical diagnosis.
• The user may now select clinical diagnosis when creating a CP. The clinical diagnosis that have been predefined are then visible at the SCG level in the drop down box.
• The user is still able to select from the main list of clinical diagnosis if necessary
Clinical Diagnosis
• Navigate to the Administrator Tab• Select Collection Protocol• Select the PI• Enter the Collection Protocol title• Enter the Collection Protocol short title• Enter the IRB• In the Clinical Diagnosis section, the user may free text in the desired clinical
diagnosis and CaTissue will begin to show matching selection, or use the drop down selections.
• Once the desired clinical diagnosis is displayed, click the Add button. The clinical diagnosis will now be displayed in the box.
• Enter the rest of the Collection Protocol details and save.

Saved Queries
In CaTissue Suite 1.2 Advanced Query may be saved. After an Advanced Query is created the user has the option of sharing the query with other users. There are three types of saved queries
• My Queries• Shared Queries • All Queries
• My Queries- Shows all queries that the user has created
• Shared Queries- Shows all queries that you have decided to share with other specific users users in CaTissue Suite 1.2 (on the same instance at a site)
• All Queries- Shows all queries that users have decided to share with all users on the same instance of CaTissue Suite. This is the default selection when the user goes to Saved Queries.
Saved Queries
• Navigate to the Search Tab• Select Saved Queries• All queries is the default screen that is displayed• To change views, navigate to the Filter and select from the drop down box
Saved Queries
• These are all the queries I have created and they are displayed in the My Queries.
Key Word Search
CaTissue Suite 1.2 now provides a Google like search feature, in which the user can enter key pieces of data to search on:
• Specimen label• Clinical diagnosis• PPI
The results are displayed in the follow manner:• If only one match is found, the edit page of the record is displayed.• If all the matches found related to the same object, all the records are displayed in
a grid. You can navigate to the edit page of the record by double-clicking the appropriate record.
• If matches related to more than one object are found, all the objects are displayed along with the number of records for each object.
You can also perform a wild-card search using the * character. For example if the user would like to see all specimen associated with a label (parent and aliquots) the user would enter 1235*.
