Alcohol Abuse• The legal drinking age in New York State

is 21 years of age. • Here at UB, most alcohol/drug violations

on campus result in Criminal Charges and/or Temporary Suspension pending a UB Judicial Affairs Hearing.

• UB may impose Temporary Suspension for alcohol/drug violations off campus as well

Sexual Assault

• According to National Studies- – 1 in 4 female students report some form of

unwanted sexual aggression during their college careers

– Alcohol plays a major factor in most sexual assaults on college campuses

• Sexual assault remains the most drastically underreported crime

• How can we help keep our community safe?

Domestic Violence

• Any disturbance, dispute, violence, or report of an offense between individuals within an intimate relationship where police intervention is requested

• NYS law mandates the reporting of all verbal and physical disputes; regardless of disposition

Stalking

• A pattern of behavior directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to feel fear.

– There are no definitive profiles of stalkers – Texting, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
