Your salary consists of three elements :

• Reference Salary• Flex uplift• Bonus / Variable component (if applicable)

REFERENCE SALARY is the equivalent of your annual salary in a traditional reward package. However, with flexible benefits, your Reference Salary does not necessarily reflect the amount of cash you receive; your take-home pay may be higher or lower than your Reference Salary depending on the benefits you choose.

Your Reference Salary is used as a reference point for calculating certain salary-related benefits, such as life assurance, pension contributions and overtime. Your Reference Salary remains unchanged regardless of the benefits you elect.

FLEX UPLIFT is an additional sum of money provided to cover your company-funded benefits such as Car Funding, Employer Pension Funding, Private Medical Insurance, Life Assurance and Long Term Disability.

Through Flex Choices, the value of your Reference Salary and Flex Uplift are combined to create your individual Flex Fund. After taking into consideration your core benefits charges, your entire Flex Fund is available for you to elect your preferred mix of benefits and cash. You may not choose such a high level of benefits that your take-home cash is less than the minimum wage.

FLEX FUND is the sum of your Reference Salary and FLEX UPLIFTYour flex fund is available for you to elect the mix of cash and benefits to suit your lifestyle.

As a Capgemini employee you are automatically covered for Life Assurance benefit, providing a lumpsum to your nominated beneficiaries upon your death. This is set up initially at the default level of 4 x your Reference Salary, although can be flexed down to 3 or 2 x your Reference Salary if you wish

You are also automatically covered for the Salary Security benefit, providing you with 60% of your Reference Salary coverage if you are off sick for a period of 6 months, up to a period of 5 years (subject to your claim being accepted by our insurers). This amount is also less state incapacity benefit and can be flexed up to 75% or down to 50%.

If you receive funding for medical in your Flex Uplift, you will automatically be opted into the Medical Plan unless you opt out. The opt out and monthly charge for self only cover is the same (£43.45). If you opt out you do not receive the BIK (Benefit in Kind) charge on your P11D. BONUS/ VARIABLE COMPONENT gives the company the flexibility to vary a proportion of pay for senior employees according to our financial success – sharing profits in good years and reducing costs during lean years. The bonus schemes are a discretionary part of the package designed so that the better your performance and the better the performance of the business, the bigger the bonus you will receive. Eligibility to bonus schemes is dependent on your grade and role in Capgemini.

Our bonus schemes are a discretionary part of the package designed so that the better your personal performance and the better the performance of the business, the greater the bonus you will receive. Our bonus scheme brochures explain this in more detail and include examples.

We have the following schemes:• The Sales Commission Scheme (SCS) is for permanent employees whose primary function is to generate

sales manage sales or accounts.• The Variable Compensation Scheme (VCS) is for Vice Presidents who are not in SCS.• The Performance and Profit Bonus Scheme (PPBS) is for senior employees who are not in other bonus

schemes.• The Infrastructure Services Bonus Scheme (ISBS) is for senior employees om Infrastructure Services who

are not in the other bonus schemes.

If you work for another part of the business, e.g. GSA then your bonus scheme may be different but the same payment rules apply to all schemes.

When is my salary reviewed? We review everyone’s pay annually. Whilst a review may not necessarily mean an increase, most increases are implemented on 1 January. There is also an opportunity to implement a limited number of exceptional increases during mid-year reviews.

How is my pay reviewed?Your pay will be influenced by:• Your value to the Company, as measured by your experience and capability and your skill-group or role• How your pay compares with the market range for similar skills or roles in similar companies• Your individual performance measured by a performance review.• How your earnings compare with those of peers within your own skill-group or role• Company financial performance and affordability.

If you are on Terms and Conditions of Service that you have retained under TUPE (i.e. you have joined Capgemini through an outsourcing deal and have not transferred to our Terms and Conditions of Service), your pay, bonus and benefits will be set in accordance with your transfer agreement.

CompanyCarIf you are eligible for a Company Car it will state this on your offer of employment.

You can elect a company car at any time during the year from the list of manufacturers below:

Audi | BMW | Citroen | Ford | Honda | Mercedes | Mini | Renault | SEAT | Smart | Toyota | Vauxhall | Volvo | VW

You can view all of the vehicles available and the monthly costs on the Choice List. The type of vehicle that you can elect is not restricted, this includes hatchbacks, saloons, convertibles, estates and MPV’s.

You can also elect the lease period to suit you, 12, 24, 36 or 48 months.

With a company car, you make one monthly payment which covers:

• Lease costs of the car - including discounts negotiated with the manufacturers

• Fully Comprehensive Insurance - including 2 nominated drivers

• Servicing Maintenance and Repair• Tyres, Batteries and Exhausts• Hire Car in the event of an Accident or• Mechanical Failure• Road fund licence• Windscreen and Glass Replacement• Breakdown Cover• MoT• 24hr Accident Management• Zero excess mileage charge

The charge (lease cost) is taken from you salary before Tax and NI contributions are deducted. For example, a 40% tax payer, with a lease cost of £300 would save £120 in tax and £3 in NI giving a net salary deduction of £177.

A 20% tax payer would save £60 in Tax and £33 in NI giving a net salary deduction of £207.

The company car is treated as a Benefit in Kind, and will be shown on your P11D report and also reflect in your tax code. But if the car you choose has low C02 emissions, your Tax and NI savings on the lease cost is likely to be greater than the adjustment to your tax code, giving you an overall saving.

The difference with owning and running your own private car is that costs are all paid from taxed income, asyou have already paid tax and NI on your take home salary, and then spending it on running the car.

Within the company car quotation there is a section called Salary Sacrifice and this shows the total net cost Salary deduction including Benefit in Kind Tax.

When is this benefit effective? You will be covered from the 1st of the month after you elect the benefit.

If I leave Capgemini am I still covered? Any outstanding balance on your Health Screen will be taken from your last month’s pay and if you haven’t already had your screening you can take it up any time to the end of the flex year.

Can I cover my partner? Yes you can cover your partner even if you don’t take out cover yourself. The level of cover doesn’t have to be the same for both of you.

Total Basic Contributions for existing members of the Capgemini UK Pension Plan – Defined Contribution (DC) Section, vary between 7% and 13% of Reference Salary (subject to the Plan Cap), depending on your age at each 1st April. If you wish to increase the amount of contributions you pay into the DC Section, you can elect either Fixed Additional Contributions (FACs) or Variable Additional Contributions (VACs).

FACs can only be started or changed during Flex Renewal. Having elected to start FACs or change any FACs you already pay during the Flex Renewal, they are then fixed for a full Plan Year. The maximum amount of FACs which can be paid in any Plan year must not add up to more than 50% of your Reference Salary (including Total Basic Contributions). In addition to qualifying for tax relief*, National Insurance contributions are not payable on FACs if paid through Flex Choices.

You can elect to pay VACs, in addition to, or instead of, any FACs, either on a Monthly or a One-Off basis. Please note that the maximum level of total contributions (Total Basic Contributions, plus any FACs and VACs) in any Plan year cannot exceed 75% of Reference Salary, subject to the Plan Cap or the Annual Allowance, as applicable. Whilst VACs give you more flexibility to stop, start and change your level of contributions during the year and they attract tax relief*, they are subject to National Insurance contributions.

If you wish to make any investment fund switches for both future and past contributions, you can initiate these switches directly through Compendia at anytime. For future contributions, there is no restriction on the frequency and there is no associated charge. For existing contributions, there is no restriction on the frequency, but a charge will be made for any switches in excess of 3 within a rolling 12 month period. Compendia can be accessed via Employee Self Service or the Pensions Intranet site.

* from 6 April 2011, tax advantaged pension savings will be restricted to £50,000 per annum. Full details will be issued shortly.

If you are not a member of the Capgemini UK Pension Plan, you can join the DC Section on the 1st of any future month but if you elect membership during the Flex Renewal, this will be effective from 1st April.

Please read the DC Section booklet on the Pensions Intranet site, before making any changes but if you have any questions please contact the Pensions Help line on 0870 241 4502 or by email to [email protected]
