The Psalmist says, “Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with

music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods” (Ps 95:1-3). The Huron Ministerial Association is sponsoring a Com-munity Musical Celebration on Sunday, April 3rd, 4pm at First United Methodist Church. Congregations from all over the Huron area will bring special choral numbers and then unite as a mass choir. Don’t miss this opportunity for worship and Christian fel-lowship! The Huron Ministerial Association will take a free will offering, with the proceeds going to Helping Hands of Huron.

Ministry Minute There is one more opportunity for a book study this

year and then the group and I have decided to take the summer off. The final book that we will be studying is The Jesus I Never Knew by Philip Yancey. This study will involve a DVD and a study guide as well as a book. However, I also believe that this would be a good study for anyone who may not have time to pre-pare in advance and simply show up on Thursdays and enjoy learning more about who Jesus was and who he is for us today. I invite anyone who is interested to join us Thursdays at noon starting on Thursday the 7

Thank You for the cards and condolences in the loss of my brother. I really appreciate my church family.

Donna Meiers & Family Thank you for all of your prayers. They have held me through my hospital and clinic times and supported me through my recovery. Jan Andol I’m writing to report the death of my sister, Mary Hase of Mesa, AZ. Mary passed away on Tuesday, March 1. Mary was baptized, confirmed, and married in First Presby-terian Church in the fifties and sixties. Her husband, Gary Hase was also a Huron resident. A memorial service is being held in Mesa, AZ on March 19. Mary is survived by her hus-band, Gary, two daughters, a son and two sisters. Lorna Friese and Dawn Wollman of Sioux Falls. She will be missed by all of us. Thank You Sincerely, Dawn Wollman To the congregation at First Presbyterian & Men’s Club. The Shallow Well Program is just one of the PW mission Projects.

Safe drinking water means life not death for many in a place where one in five children die before their fifth birthday from water-borne or sanitation related diseases. The Shallow Well Program not only provides safe drinking water but also the necessary knowledge, skills and tools to manage and maintain the protected water source, so that the supply of water continues in future years. Where shallow wells have been built, water-borne diseases are eliminated “I tel lyou the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of wa-ter in my name because you belong to Christ will cer-tainly not lose his reward.! Member Highlights

Josh and Carissa Koops

Josh Koops was born in Gettysburg to Brent Koops and Linda Schoenfelder. He graduated from Gettysburg High School and then attended Lake Area Tech in Watertown receiving a Die-sel Technician Degree. He moved to Dell Rapids where he began his rail-road career. In 2007 Josh moved to Huron, continuing his railroad career. At one time he was a conductor but for the last nine years he has been in the Shop. Their route is basically from Huron to Tracy, Minnesota area. Josh's dad still farms and is a rancher near Gettysburg. His mother is a Realtor in Sioux Falls. Josh has two sisters. Stephanie Wenzel is a Dental Hygienist in Milbank and has 2 children. Shaniah Koops is attending college at USD. Carissa was born to Harvey and Peggy Gleich and graduated from Alpena High School. Her dad, who worked for the railroad, passed away in July of 2014. Her mom recently received a 30 year award for working at HRMC. To honor Harvey Gleich, his name has been added to Andy's Road Race. All proceeds raised go to PKD, polycys-tic kidney disease, an organization that was near and dear to him. Carissa has one sister, Haley, who works in Sioux Falls at Montgomery Furniture as an Interior Design-er. After graduation Carissa went to work at Chekkers. Phyllis Lemke was her boss there! She spent six years there and then began working at the Shell Station East of Huron. She has been there ten years and is now the Assistant Manager. Josh and Carissa met in Huron. After a two year courtship they were married Aug. 15, 2009 in this Presbyterian Church. They are parents to two boys. Colton (Pell) is 15 and is a Freshman. He enjoys all sports, especially basketball, attends Sunday School and the Wednesday night Sr. Hi. Group. Carissa helps with the grocery shopping for Logos. Noah is in Kindergarten and will soon be 6. The boys enjoy board games, puz-zles, and swimming together. The family likes taking excursions to visit relatives or the Omaha Zoo. Last October Carissa happened to be the holder of a scratch ticket and won a com-plete trip to Las Vegas for Josh and her! It included airfare, hotel, food and a Welcom-ing Supper. She got picked as a contestant on the game show “Monopoly Millionaires' Club”, whose Host is Todd Newton and airs here on Saturday nights. Contestants were divided into five sections, answering questions. Section 1 came away with the million dollars. Carissa's section was number 2 and each one got over $2, 000 and a $50 gift card. It was quite a memorable experience for the Koops.
