ConstructionSETflow AMI Endpoints operate on a D cell battery. The high-density polycarbonateenclosure construction uses a fully encapsulated epoxy resin to ensure the battery andall internal electronics are protected against moisture and vibration. Meter ConnectionsAMI Endpoints can be connected to any encoded output meter using a three-wireconnector. Most three-wire connectors are supported and can be pre-configured duringmanufacturing with your connector of choice. If no connector is needed, Endpoints canbe shipped with open wire leads for gel-cap or other preferred connection options. InstallationSETflow AMI Endpoints can be installed in meter pits, attached to walls, or anyenvironment where cellular or LoRa signal is available. The installer can determinenetwork availability in the chosen area and while onsite using the SETflow Field Mobileapp.

Systems100C Remote Smart Valve

Turning water services on or off for new or delinquent customers is a timeconsuming process. Field staff typically need to drive to the customer locationand manually turn the water valve on or off. This takes valuable time away fromurgent maintenance projects and adds costs to water operations.  By implementing a remote shut-off valve using existing cellular networks, utilitystaff reduce truck rolls, decrease unauthorized water consumption, and improverevenue collection. SET is the only technology provider in the water utilityindustry to offer a meter-neutral shut-off valve that may be selectively deployedon remote or high-turnover accounts.  The 100C also includes the same radio platform as our AMI Endpoints meaningthe device can function as a wireless meter reading system as well as a remotevalve control solution.

SystemsRemote Smart Valve - Specifications

ConstructionThe SETflow 100C Smart Valve utilizes a durable chrome plated ball valve shutoff systemthat is controlled by a lithium battery powered motor. The motor, gearing, and lithiumbattery provides up to 20 years of remote valve control and is contained within a pottedsolution, providing IP68 protection from water intrusion. The 100C Remote Smart Valve isoffered in sizes ranging from 1/2 inch up to 2 inches to meet a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Network CommunicationsThe radio and electronics in the valve utilize the X230 communication platform allowingthe smart valve to function as an AMI Endpoint.  Valve OperationsValve positions – which include open, closed and reduced flow – may be controlledremotely from the SETflow MDMS. The valve may also be configured for full meterreading and data transmission capabilities, eliminating the need for a discreet endpoint.

SoftwareSETflow MDMS

Any utility that is contemplating upgrading to smartmetering is going to need a software platform to helpmanage the flood of incoming data. The traditionalrole of a Meter Data Management System (MDMS) is tostore interval meter data, perform data Validation,Estimation, and Editing (VEE), and generate billing filesfrom consumption information to send to the utiltiybilling system. SETflow MDMS does all this, and muchmore.

SoftwareSETflow Customer Information System

An easy-to-use and reliable billing system is thecornerstone of any water business. The ability tocoordinate meter reads, bill file creation, accurate billdelivery, and consistent payment collection makes upthe critical meter-to-cash process. SETflow Billing is akey element in this process and, like all SETflowproducts, is tightly integrated with our Meter DataManagement and Customer Portal and ElectronicPayment solutions for a total, end-to-end solution.

SoftwareSETflow Customer Portal

The modern customer has come to expect a certainlevel of service from their water provider. This includesthe ability to get detailed information about waterconsumption, set leak notifications for delivery overemail or SMS, and find answers to commonly askedquestions. In addition, it is no longer sufficient to justoffer these services online, but they also have to beavailable over a mobile device. SET offers a premiumCustomer Portal that includes all the importantfeatures that end-use customer expect from theirservice provider.

SoftwareSETflow Field Mobile Application

SETflow mobile is a wireless workforce provisioning application to aid in thedeployment, configuration, and management of all SETflow hardware includingRemote Smart Valves, and AMI Endpoints. This easy-to-use iPhone and Android smart phone application allows field staffto install IoT hardware and then immediately provision all devices from theirmobile device. Because all of our systems are fitted with cellular, bluetooth, andwifi radios, you can access device statistics and configuration parameters fromyour mobile device at the installation site, or remotely from the comfort of youroffice.  In the case of a remote cellular valve system, field staff can easily control valvesettings from the SETflow Field Mobile application without lifting meter lids orneeding access to customer property to turn services on or off.

ServicesInstallation and Configuration

Purchasing hardware or software does not, on its own, solve any utility problem. In fact, facing the use of newtechnology without support from your chosen vendorcan create more hassle and costs than the originalproblem.  Having a trusted partner to assist your utility with theinstallation and deployment of new hardware is a keystep to unlocking the value of any investment. That iswhy SET offers complete installation and deploymentservices along with the purchase of any of our systems.

ServicesData System Integration

For better or worse, there are many choices when it comes to software in the waterindustry. Regardless of whether your utility is considering an MDMS, a new billingsystem, a work order management platform, or a customer portal, you won’t have alack of options.  But with so many choices comes challenges. There is an unfortunate lack of industrystandards when it comes to data formats and communication protocols which oftenmakes integrating different software systems quite difficult. A wide range of proprietaryfile formats and data interfaces mean that nearly every integration requires newsoftware coding, additional costs for Application Programming Interface (API) licenses,or professional fees to various vendors to export data in easy-to-use formats.  All this complexity adds cost and time to the implementation of a new system andpushes the potential value of the software further into the future. This is where SETdata system integration services come into play.

SET PRODUCT CATALOG - 2020

Real-Time Bill PresentmentEvery customer wants the ability to see the amount oftheir bill when they log-in to a customer portal.Passing bill amount information to a customer portalwhen the customer logs-in gives your end-users accessto the most current billing information available, reducing possible shut-offs due to delinquentpayments and improving customer satisfaction. Automated Work Order ManagementManually entering work requests into a work-ordermanagement system is time consuming and prone tohuman error. By automating the creation of workorders by passing relevant information from billingsystems or customer interfaces, field staff have morecurrent and accurate work requests and office staffsave time to focus on high-value exceptionmanagement. Geographic Meter AnalyticsUtilities use Global Information Systems (GIS) to mappipes, pumps, lift gates, and sensors. The data in theseGIS files are useful for system rehabilitation planningand general asset management. By integratingconsumption, flow, pressure, and other meter systemdata with GIS data, utility operators can make moreinformed decisions on asset management and morequickly identify leaks and other potential systemfailures using predictive analytics.
