Creating a CitationSTEP 1: Click Bibliography at the top of the screen.

STEP 2: Using the drop box, choose your citation type (ex: website) and click Create Citation.

STEP 3: Then click as shown below.

Citing a website with no citation listed.

STEP 1: Go to the website in your browser. Find the name of the website (usually at the top left). Copy and paste it into “Name of the Website” in NoodleTools.

STEP 2: Look carefully at website to see if you can find the person or organization (publisher) that made the web site (usually at the bottom). Copy and paste that into “Publisher of the site”.

STEP 3: Do not change the date of access unless you go to it on a later date. Look for a date on the website (sometimes this is just a year) and enter it in “Date of e-publication” in NoodleTools.

STEP 4: Highlight and copy the URL (www._______) of the website and paste it into the box in NoodleTools for the URL.

STEP 5: Now look for the name of article you are using on the website and copy and paste it into NoodleTools.

STEP 6: Click and that will add your completed citation onto the MLA Works Cited page.

Citing a website with a citation already listed.

STEP 1: Using the drop box, choose your citation type (website) and click Create Citation.

STEP 2: Click Continue as shown below.

STEP 3: Click Copy & paste a citation.

STEP 4: Click into the box labeled Manually-edited Citation.

STEP 5: On a website, a citation is sometimes already provided for you. This is usually located at the end of the article, but sometimes is at the top or off to the side depending on the website.

Highlight and copy (Command C) the citation. Be sure to choose MLA if there is a choice. Go back to NoodleTools and paste the citation using Command V in “Manually-edited citation”.

STEP 7: Click and add your completed citation onto the MLA Works Cited page.

Citing a Book

STEP 1: Select book from the drop box and click Create Citation.

STEP 2: Click Continue.

STEP 3: Locate the ISBN number on the back of the book or on the back of the title page of the book. Type the number into the box to the right of ISBN and click Search.

STEP 4: Click once on the search results. (See below). Then, click at the bottom of the screen.

STEP 5: Click at the bottom of the next screen and add the citation to the MLA Works Cited page.

Click and select .
