PBL –Expectation Focus for the Week This week’s focus for PBL is:

“Walk on Concrete and Verandahs This term our focus for the week is the same for two weeks. That means we are still focusing on walking on concrete and verandahs at all times. This ensures all students remain safe and avoid falling over or running into others.

Debating Last week our Year 5 and Year 6 debating teams debated against GEPS in the Premier’s Debating Competition. The Year 5 team debated on the topic “That Primary schools should teach compulsory swimming classes.” Our team was the negative. Our Year 5 debating team won this debate, which is a wonderful achievement.

Our Year 6 debating team debated on the topic “That schools should replace arts and music classes with more maths and science.” Our team was the negative. Unfortunately, the Year 6 team was defeated. This Thursday our debating teams will travel to GEPS to participate in two more debates. We would like to wish them all the best and thank Mrs Delves for coaching both teams.

    Canteen News Week 2

We have had a few changes to our menu as part of the NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy. We are now selling smaller meat pies and some of the ice creams are no longer being sold. If you child is ordering their lunch please make sure their lunch order is given to the canteen before 9.15, as lately many orders have been late and some students are missing out on what they wanted to order. Thanking you Kelli and Paulina Canteen Supervisors

    P&C Meeting

Book Fair Week 5 2018 Our annual Bookfair is on in Week 5 this term. On Tuesday the 21st of August, we will be having our Book Week parade and assembly. Children are asked to come to school dressed up as their favourite book character for our parade. Parents are welcome to come and stay for our assembly. The parade will be directly after recess at 11.35 and the assembly will follow that. The Book fair itself will be open in the library all week. This is our library’s only major fundraiser for the year and your support would be greatly appreciated. The school receives a commission from the total Book fair sales. Families can also purchase a book and donate it to the school. These books will have a donation label in the front of them to identify the family. The donating family will also be able to borrow their books first and will be given their books at a morning assembly. I will also be running a competition for the Year 3 to 6 children. They will be able to write a paragraph about what is special about their favourite book. This can be done in library or at home. If parents or students would like more information on the competition, please come and see me. The winners will present their paragraph at the Book Week assembly and receive a voucher to spend at the Book fair. Save the date Tuesday 21st August – Book fair Hope to see you all there, Regards Mrs J. Evans Librarian
