Heritage Act, provisionally declare the place described in the Schedule, known as the

Kulaluk Lease Area, to be a heritage place.

Dangerous Goods Regulations

Approval of Periods for Purchasing, Possessing andThrowing, Igniting or Exploding Shopgoods Fireworks

I, Peter Donald Styles, Minister for Business:

(a) under regulation 139 of the Dangerous Goods Regulations, approve the period

of time from 9 am to 9 pm on Friday 1 July 2016 as a period during which a

person may purchase shopgoods fireworks; and

(b) under regulation 140(1) of the Regulations and with reference to

regulation 140A(1) of the Regulations:

(i) approve the period of time from 9 am on Friday 1 July 2016 to 12 noon

on Saturday 2 July 2016 as a period during which a person may possess

shopgoods fireworks, subject to the condition that this approval does not

apply to the place specified in the Schedule; and

(ii) approve the period of time from 6 pm to 11 pm on Friday 1 July 2016 as

a period during which a person may throw, ignite or explode shopgoods

fireworks, subject to the condition that this approval does not apply to the

place specified in the Schedule.

All that parcel of land at Mindil Beach in the Town of Darwin, Northern Territory of

Australia bounded by lines described as follows:

Commencing at the intersection of the north-westerly prolongation of the north-eastern

boundary of Lot 5244 with the Low Water Mark of Fannie Bay; thence south-easterly

by the said prolongation and boundary and its south-easterly prolongation to the

north-easterly prolongation of the north-western boundary of Lot 5257; thence

south-westerly to the northern corner of the said Lot; thence south-easterly by its

north-eastern boundary to a north-western boundary of Gilruth Avenue; thence

generally north-easterly by the said boundary to intersect parallel of

south latitude 12 degrees 26 minutes 33.9 seconds, being a point on the centreline of

a stormwater drain exiting under Gilruth Avenue; thence generally north-westerly by

the centreline of the said drain to intersect a south-western boundary of Lot 5670;

thence north west by the said boundary to the Low Water Mark of Fannie Bay; thence

generally south-westerly by the said Low Water Mark to the point of commencement,

the position of Low Water Mark referred to being as at Lowest Astronomical Tide.

Motor Vehicles Act

Exemption from Motor Vehicles (Standards) RegulationsRear Overhang Exemption for Controlled Access Buses

I, Paul Nathan Rajan, Registrar of Motor Vehicles, pursuant to section 59(2) of the

Motor Vehicles Act, exempt a Controlled Access Bus, as described in the Schedule,

from the requirements of Rule 70(4) of Schedule 6 of the Motor Vehicles

(Standards) Regulations subject to the following conditions:

a) The rear overhang of a Controlled Access Bus must not be more than the lesser

of:

i. 4.9 metres; and

ii. 70% of the distance between the centre-line of the front axle and the rear

overhang line.

b) The Controlled Access Bus must be fitted with an approved identification plate as

described in the Schedule.

ScheduleControlled Access Bus means a bus, except an articulated bus, which is:

i. over 12.5 metres long; and

ii. not longer than 14.5 metres.

Identification Plate means a plate declaring the status of a road vehicle in relation to

the national standards and approved to be placed on vehicles of that type or description

under procedures and arrangements provided for in subsection 10(1) of the

Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989 (Commonwealth).

Motor Vehicles Act

Exemption from Motor Vehicles (Standards) RegulationsMass Exemption for Two Axle Buses

I, Paul Nathan Rajan, Registrar of Motor Vehicles, pursuant to section 59(2) of the

Motor Vehicles Act, exempt a bus as described in the Schedule, from the requirements

of Regulation 7(b) of the Motor Vehicles (Standards) Regulations subject to the following

conditions:

a) The gross vehicle mass must not exceed the lesser of:

i. 18 tonnes; and

ii. the bus manufacturer’s Gross Vehicle Mass rating.

b) The mass on an axle of the vehicle must not be more than:

i. for a steer axle with single tyres – 7 tonnes; and

ii. for a rear drive axle with dual tyres – 12 tonnes.

c) The vehicle must be operated within the limitations of each manufacturer’s

component rating.

ScheduleA bus means a two axle omnibus that:

i. has a single steer axle with single tyres;

ii. has a single rear (drive) axle with dual tyres;

iii. has more than 9 seating positions (including that of the driver); and

iv. is being used primarily for the transport of passengers.

I, Johan Wessel Elferink, Minister for Health:

(a) under section 16(1) of the Notifiable Diseases Act and with reference to

section 43 of the Interpretation Act, revoke all instruments under section 16 of

the Notifiable Diseases Act in force immediately before the date of this

instrument; and

(b) under section 16(1) of the Notifiable Diseases Act, specify that:

(i) the information in Schedule 1, in relation to a disease listed in

Schedule 2, is to be given in writing or by phone or facsimile

(a non-urgent notification); and

(ii) the information in Schedule 1, in relation to a disease listed in

Schedule 3, is to be given by phone (an urgent notification).
