I, DELIA PHOEBE LAWRIE, the Minister for Planning and Lands, in pursuance of section 40(6) of the Planning Act, give notice that -(a) I have, in pursuance of section 40(4)(a) of the Act,

granted a variation to Exceptional Development Permit EDP05/0007 in respect to Lot 7877 (18) Leichhardt Terrace, Town of Alice Springs;

(b) Condition 2 EDP05/0007 has been varied to allow amendments to the design and layout of the proposed office building, including a generator; and an additional condition to ensure the use of the generator does not result in any significant adverse impacts on the amenity of the locality;

Plant Diseases Control ActDECLARATION OF QuARANTINE AREA FOR BANANA PLANTS AND PLANTAIN PLANTS

I, CHRISTOPHER WILLIAM NATT, Minister for Primary Industry and Fisheries, under section 11(1) of the Plant Diseases Control Act and with reference to section 42 of the Interpretation Act:(a) declare the area of land near Noonamah described in

Schedule 1 to be a quarantine area (the quarantine area) in respect of the disease known as Fusarium wilt or Panama disease, which is the disease caused by the fungus Fusarium oxysporum Schlecht. ex. Fries. f. sp. cubense (E.F. Smith) Snyder Hansen (the disease); and

2. Destroy in a way approved by the Chief Inspector the banana plants or plantain plants the owner identifies as, or suspects are, infected by the disease or allow an inspector to destroy the plants.

3. Keep, and produce to the Chief Inspector on request, written records that include the following information relating to measures specified by clause 2:

(a) the date on which plants are identified as being infected or are first suspected of being infected with the disease;

(b) the number and location of the plants; (c) the date and method of destruction of the plants.4. Notify the Chief Inspector in writing as soon as practicable

after: (a) the removal of all banana plants or plantain plants

from within the quarantine area; or (b) there is any other significant change in circumstances

that the owner believes may affect measures for the control or eradication of the disease.

5. Ensure that a fence is maintained around the quarantine area that is capable of preventing cattle, horses, pigs and vehicles entering the area.

6. Ensure that gates allowing access to the quarantine area remain closed and locked at all times except when actually in use for entry or exit.

7. Ensure that at each gate allowing access to the quarantine area there is a sign that:

(a) a person can read before entering the quarantine area; and

(b) states that unauthorised entry into the quarantine area is prohibited.

8. Ensure that before a person enters the quarantine area under the authority of the owner (whether or not bringing a vehicle or equipment into the area), the person is aware of the prohibitions and requirements of this notice.

9. use the necessary and reasonable measures approved by the Chief Inspector to remove all soil (except in the form of surface dust) from vehicles and equipment and the footwear and bare feet of all people before the vehicles, equipment or people leave the quarantine area.

10. Ensure the material and equipment required to comply with clause 9 is available at the point of exit from the quarantine area and is in working condition.
