beneath your feet? Or walked past a mirror and just barely caught a glimpse ofsomething that didnt quite resemble your image? Could it be nothingperhaps

I would venture to say weve all had those unsettling experiences at one time or
another. Halloween offers new opportunity to enjoy the season and relish in all of
those little oddities of life. Autumns threshold gives us notice that the year isdwindling and the holiday season is shortly upon us. The sun sets a bit earlier in the
evening, the leaves rustle beneath our feet and the crisp autumn air encourages us to
curl up a little closer to the fire.

It's been said that one man's trash is another man's
treasure. Finding just the right cache is what antique
collecting is all about. Its a passion for some of us.Its a weekend fancy for others. We like to consider
both types close confidants in the antique world.
Every person who walks through our doors at Norwood
or Nostalgia quickly becomes members of our ever-growing family. Whats our common thread? It should
be obviousour love of old, collectible and vintage
items.
By absolute definition, an antique is an object that is at
least 100 years old. A vintage item is one that hassurvived at least 20 years. Some are family heirloomsthat have been handed down through the generations,
while others are purchased items that evoke some sortof nostalgia within us. Whichever category tickles your
fancy, we have it. We pay close attention to the trends
in collecting and our vendors attempt to provide an
excellent selection of merchandise.
We hope that youll find just what youre looking for at
Norwood and Nostalgia. If not, we love a goodchallenge. Let us search for your most sought after
item. To erase water rings from finished wood (even really
old ones); mix a small amount of baking soda with
Crest toothpaste. Apply the paste to the rings with a
clean soft cloth, wait 5 minutes then gently rub.
Wipe clean and polish as usual. Works like a charm,
tried and tested.
To fix a screw hole that has become too large to hold
its screw, make a plug out of a cotton ball by soaking
it in Elmer's Glue-All and stuffing it into the hole,
Let dry then reinsert the screw. You can also repair
an enlarged screw hole by making a paste of sawdust
and Elmer's Glue-All. Fill the hole, let dry overnight
then reinsert the screw.
Before clamping just-glued wood furniture, wrap the
joint with wax paper to protect surface marring.

ARE YOU AN
ECLECTIC COLLECTOR?
In other words, do you like a little bitof this and a little bit of that? Would
you pair a mid-century modern lamp
with a Victorian side table? Or wouldyou set your dining room table with
your grandmothers best china and
serve tea in your Fiesta teapot? If
either of these ideas appeals to you, then you have an eclectic taste.
Some of us prefer to maintain a
primary dcor in one styleprimitive,
Victorian, Edwardian, or modern. Were drawn to a particular style and
often we evolve from one style to
another. Whatever the case might be,we like what we like.
I associate our desires to decorate withthat of the choices on a color wheel.
The possibilities are endless.
An example of an eclectic setting mightlook like thisa primitive willow tree
paired with a tall Viking swung vase. These pieces paired with several early
1900s yearbooks held fast withbronzed baby shoe bookends. A
handmade grapevine wreath hung on
the wall behind the rest, providing a
perfect backdrop atop a modern rolltop desk.
Some may love the idea; some maynot. Either wayit takes all kinds to
make the antique world go around.
I f you are interested in becoming a vendor at Norwood Antique Mal l or Nostalgia, please let us know.
We, occasional ly, have available shops. Month ly rental pri cing depends upon the size of the shop.
