On Sunday 31st October as part of our 9.15 service, we will be including a service of remembrance for families who have recently been bereaved and for whom St Chadʼs carried out the funeral service. We hope that it will be a special opportunity for people to remember those they loved. Invitations have been issued and members of our Bereavement team will be available after the service to talk with families over coffee. Please pray for all those who have lost loved ones in recent times.

Hello St Chads – Itʼs Shoe Box time again! Due to personal health problems, I am a bit late in getting organized this year, so I really need your help now.

Fortunately a few people have been knitting all yearand I hope others will put the Shoe Box children at the top of their priorities for the next few weeks.

I am desperate for scarves, small ʻpocket money toysʼ, suitable party packs which can be split up, and packs of balloons.

If you are doing your own box, you can leave it with Jan in the church office.

Finally – donʼt forget that each Shoe Box costs £2.50 to send to a child. Even your loose change will be a blessing, so dig as deep as you can. Even in a recession none of us are as poor as these children.

Last year we made up more that 280 boxes, so come on St Chads, lets see what we can do for some of the poorest of children this year.

Light party returns this year for more fun and games than ever before! Light party is not only an alternative to Halloween parties, but is a fantastic opportunity to tell children about Jesus, the light of the world and to challenge them to ʻshine their lightʼ in the community through caring about others and doing lots of little acts of kindness. Please Pray: - That we will be able to communicate ʻJesus the Light of the Worldʼ creatively and clearly & that that message will be received and take root in those who hear it. - That the children who come along will have a really positive experience of St Chadʼs Church and relationship will be built - For protection for all children, Light Party team and for all that we do at Light Party. - That Light Party will be a catalyst for children deciding to come to our weekly childrenʼs ministries. If you would like to be part of the Light Party team you can get in touch with Johanna on [email protected] or 0161 4301131.
