NUO is as soft as leather and as smooth as fabric – completely animal-free and made of real wood. A sensation! The patented „soft wood“ already dresses first shoes, handbags and car seats, and launches now world-wide on the market.
Hold NUO in your hand and you will immediately be amazed by the plea-sant feel and beauty of the material. It is surprisingly light and looks very luxurious, can be bent in all directions and is very soft. NUO is made of high-quality veneer that comes exclusively from sustainable forestry. The thin real wood is bonded with an environmentally friendly backing material, then the wood surface is engraved. The fine engraving gives the wood surface its flexibility. The backing material provides strength and ensures that NUO is easy to process. If desired, the material can be coated with a protective layer of wax or lacquer. This protective layer makes NUO resistant to dust and moisture (depending on the surface treatment used).
Six types of wood and four different engravings are currently available. All logs come from sustainably managed forests. The available sizes are 1250 mm x 620 mm, 1250 mm x 1240 mm, 2500 mm x 1240 mm. Significant-ly larger formats can also be produced on request, up to a length of 2800 mm and a width of 1240 mm.
The specific characteristics of NUO, such as flexibility, weight and thickness of the material, depend essentially on the type of wood used, the type of application, the substrate and the surface finish.
