NY Standard Configuration

The NY Standard uses the Danielson Rubric to score all measures in the evaluation process.

•Domains 1,2,3, and component 4a for announced observations

•Domains 2 and 3 and Domain 4 component 4a for unannounced observations

•Domain 4 components 4b-4f for the structured portfolio artifacts (although evaluators can request evidence from other domains and scoring is optional).

Annual Planning Conference

•Evaluator schedules Annual Planning and Goal Setting conference

•Teacher completes Planning and Goal Setting Form

Announced observation (2):

•Evaluator schedules the observation

•Teacher completes the pre-observation form

•Teacher uploads lesson plan (optional)

•Teacher uploads other artifacts (optional)

•Evaluator completes the observation by collecting evidence, tagging it to components

•Teacher completes the post-observation form

•Teacher has the option to upload other artifacts (optional)

•Evaluator has the option to upload other artifacts (optional)

•Evaluator scores the observation using evidence gathered during the observation and from the pre- and post-observation forms

Unannounced observation (1):

•Evaluator completes the observation by collecting evidence, tagging it to components

•Teacher completes the post-observation form

•Teacher uploads other artifacts (optional)

•Evaluator has the option to upload other artifacts (optional)

•Evaluator scores the observation using evidence gathered during the observation and from the post-observation forms

Portfolio Evaluation (Domain 4 +):.

•Teacher uploads Portfolio evidence in the form of artifacts

•Evaluator scores the observation using evidence from the artifacts

Summative Conference:.

•Teacher completes self-review form and summative form

•Evaluator completes summative form

NY State Standard Configuration: Weighting/Formulas

8

• All the scores for the components for each domain are averaged at the component and domain level across all observations and other measures

• The domains and the domain components within the domain are weighted using NYSUT recommendations

The composite scores are then converted to the NY State score using the NYSUT CONVERSION CHART.

Effective: Overall performance and results meet NYS Teaching Standards.
