8 to 9:15 pm: pRe-FIReWORKS GaTHeRInG NPS docks - dance tunes with deejay emerald Owl Productions
9:15 pm: Fireworks launched from the NPS parking lot. Gather at NPS docks and around Silver lake harbor.
thurSdaY, JulY 4:8 to 10 am: MeeT “capTaIn,” The newest Stallion Ocracoke Pony Pens
9 am: FLaG RaISInG and SInGInG OF naTIOnaL anTHeM Ocracoke School flag Circle on School road
9:30 am to Noon: 41st annUaL Sand ScULpTURe cOnTeST at the NPS lifeguard beach. People’s choice awards and cash prizes. Judging from Noon to 1 pm.
10 am to 2 pm: caR SHOW Pony island Motel lawn. - Sponsored by Jimmy’s Garage.
10 am to 2 pm: OcRacOKe LIGHTHOUSe the lighthouse is for viewing. all are welcome to see inside; no climbing.
10 am to 2 pm: ScaVenGeR HUnT Starts at books to be red lawn
4 pm: OLd TIMe OcRacOKe paRade theme: enchantment under the Sea (We’re going “back to the future”). all welcome to enter. Cash prizes. entry forms available at the Post Of ice or request a form from [email protected]. Parade starts at Ocracoke Oyster Company and ends at NPS Parking lot.
5:30 pm: Winners announced for Sand Sculpture, Scavenger Hunt & parade books to be red
5:45 to 6:30 pm: STORyTeLLInG WITH dOnaLd daVIS books to be red lawn - bring your own chair or blanket.
H eVeNiNG CelebratiON H7:30 to 11 pm: Ocra-GLOW crazy + Foam paRTy Ocracoke Community Park - Ocracoke Community Park, 148 Maurice ballance road (off Middle road). all
ages welcome. $7 admission. Wear your glow-in-the-dark gear! dance to music from the last 5 decades. interactive games. fun for all ages. Glow items and refreshments available for purchase. Proceeds bene it the Ocracoke Youth Center and OCba. rain date: July 5th. Golf cart parking only on Maurice ballance road. Cars park along Middle road.
