Filtration & Fuel Conditionning

Pure Fuel Conditioners

Petroleum diesels typically hold 60ppm of suspended water. At this level,

the water is almost insignificant. Provided the fuel is regularly used and

replenished microbial contamination is rarely a problem, bio-diesels typi-

cally hold up to 25 times more suspended water than petroleum diesel.

The introduction of bio-diesel and bio-diesel blend fuels in recent years,

has greatly increased the potential for problems. Bio-diesel is perfect habi-

tat for vigorous microbial growth.

The time fuel exposed to condensation & leaks, or time in undisturbed

storage before proliferation begins, is dramatically reduced. Today’s bio-

fuels deteriorate much faster than their petroleum forebears. Colony

Forming Units of bacteria grow on the water-fuel interface becoming

heavier until they drop out of the fuel to the bottom of the tank where bio-

films and sludge quickly form.

The bacteria feed on the fuel, but the microbes do not eat ‘all’ of the fuel.

They break down the carbon chains, which reduces the combustible prop-

erties. This leads to poor starting (or failure to start at all), excessive

smoke, reduced power output & blocked filters.

Pure Fuel Conditioners

A safe solution for curbing microbial contamination is to pass the fuel

through a Pure Fuel Conditioner. This is a natural solution to the microbe

problem that, instead of killing the microbes, renders them dormant. In

dormant state the microbe does not reproduce (no sludge) and does not

eat/excrete (no acids, no sugars).

In its dormant state, a microbe passes freely through fuel filters and can be

consumed in the combustion process.

A Pure Fuel Conditioner can be installed at all appropriate points in a fuel

distribution network and, to provide permanent protection from microbial

contamination and restore normal service intervals.

How Pure Fuel Conditioner work

The Pure Fuel Conditioner causes plasmolysis of single cell organisms –

a state in which the cell is dormant.

The powerful magnetic field inside the Pure Fuel Conditioner breaks

down the biomass into individuals cells of less than one micron size.

The dormant cell produces no adhesive shell & will consequently not

form a colony.

Plasmolysed microbial material, being small enough, passes through fil-

ters & is consumed by the engine during combustion.

Plasmolysed microbes in fuel returned to tank remains in a dormant state

for up to 28 days after treatment.

By re-circulating fuel in a tank or storage system, the microbial matter can be maintained in its

fragment dormant condition.

Filtration & Fuel Conditioning

Fuel Storage Tank Re-Circulation Kit

Why do I need to re-circulate My Fuel? Contaminated fuel inside storage tanks can cause pump or vehicle filters to

block, in some cases resulting in hefty repair bills.

These issues are caused by microbial contamination (often known as diesel

bugs which are micro-organisms that grow on water present in fuel) biofuel is

hygroscopic (attracts water).

The latest fuels contains a % of bio-fuel (up to 7%) & provide an ideal breed-

ing ground for these bugs.

Even a small % of bio-fuel acts as a detergent cleaning the inside of storage

tanks & pipe work allowing dirt/sludge to be sucked up by pumps, blocking

filters. This sludge also contributes to poor emissions (seen as black exhaust

smoke).

Over these microbes/bugs grow into large colony forming units (CFUs) which

get sucked into fuel lines blocking filters.,

Microbial contamination is mostly seen as sludge that forms in the bottom of

storage tanks & filters.

Storage tanks particularly those with low usage requires a permanent system to

keep the microbes/bugs dormant by re-circulating the fuel to ensure an efficient

microbial treatment.

Kit specification :

Circulates & prevent degradation of fuel inside storage tanks.

Passes through a fuel conditioner to prevent microbial growth.

Fuel is automatically circulated for a preset number of timed periods to ensure

tank contents is re-circulated 1 1/2 times every 28 days.

When the pump flow rate drops below a preset limit (indicating a clogged fil-

ters) the flow switch closes & a warning flight flashes.

External alarm output rates at 230 VAC 10A max.

For use with diesel/biodiesel up to B30. (B100 version optional).

Contoil - Oil Meter

Contoil - the clever solution for consumption

measurement

Shipbuilders and manufacturers of burners use the tried and

tested Contoil range of products to measure consumption.

Contoil offers an optimal cost saving solution for a large

variety of applications, thanks to robust and simple product

technology combined with innovative ancillaries which are

straightforward to use.

The extensive selection of products makes it possible to of-

fer customer specific solutions. It makes no difference

whether the medium is heavy oil, extra light heated oil,

petrol or diesel fuel because Contoil uses the volumetric

measuring principle, ensuring highly reliable measurements

with excellent accuracy and stability. The modular structure

of the range guarantees that you will save time as well as

costs.

Contoil - for guaranteed Customer benefits

Your benefits are guaranteed, no matter whether you use

multifunctional electronic register or mechanical roller

counters. The totalisers feature a direct display to ensure

easy reading. The electronic register offers an 8-digit total-

iser which can be reset. At the touch of button, you can call

up the instantaneous flow rate on the LCD display in litres/

hour. A bar indicator also shows you the current meter utili-

sation as a percentage. You will save time because the dis-

plays are so quick and easy to read and adjustements to the

system or the burner only

require minimum effort.

Digital data storage is an EEPROM ensure that data is

saved under all circumstances, because we leave nothing to

chance when it comes to reliability. The normal commercial

battery has a long lifetime and is quick and easy to replace,

makes child’s play of operating the meter.

The Model T/LL140 series is a range of highly advanced sensors for continuously measuring

the contents of a fuel tank. Their main feature is that they auto-recalibrate when the fuel is at the

full level and the sensor’s electronics negate the effects of changes in the fuel’s dielectric con-

stant caused by the use of different fuels or percentage of additives being used. Additionally,

the probe has the facility to fit fuel feed and return pipes (max 10mm) within the standard SAE 5 holes flange interface. Another useful facility is that the user can cut the sensor probe

to length to suit the tank depth.

A low level alarm switches when the fuel drops below a predetermined level (default is 1/8th of

the tank), but the alarm point can be optionally specified anywhere between 0-100%.

Coolant Alarm Switch

The model S85 is an active device which is designed to give an alarm signal if fluids falls be-

low or rises above a preset level. It will only signal after a few seconds delay in sensing the

level to eliminate false alarms due to turbulence.

Containing a programmable microprocessor, the switch can offer one or two output pins which

can sink to ground or supply a source of voltage, or both.

Its tiny footprint with limited intrusion into the tank means a reduced risk of damage and a wide

range of options and customisations makes it suitable for most applications.
