CLIENT: CenovusWSP, utilizing extensive experience with H2S treatment and hydrocarbon recovery, was contracted to provide the Front End Engineering and Design for the first commercial-scale solvent-aided process SAGD project. When completed, Narrows Lake is expected to have a production capacity of 130,000 bbl/d over 3 phases, with an estimated lifespan of 40 years. This would be the industry’s first use of SAP with butane on a commercial scale, which is anticipated to improve efficiencies and increase production.

CLIENT: EncanaEncana’s greenfield development did not have any electrical power infrastructure in the area. The estimate of facility load was in the range of 15 MW of electrical power. WSP designed and constructed the Cabin Gas Power Plant with 5 natural gas powered generators in a part-load profile, which allowed the costumer to optimize the entire output range of the plant. Designing it to be modular, enabled simple configuration. Prefabricated, pretested piping modules guaranteed compatibility. Site installation was simply a matter of assembling and connecting the modules.

04 NARROWS LAKE STEAM ASSISTED GRAVITY DRAINAGE PROJECT

06 CABIN GAS PLANT

CLIENT : PembinaWSP provided engineering for a grassroots 200mmcf per day enhanced natural gas liquids extraction facility along with associated NGL and gas gathering pipelines. The cryogenic deep-cut gas processing facility incorporated a patented Ortloff process combined with compression to produce the natural gas liquids. Plant facilities included gas dehydration, fractionation tower, liquids storage and plant controls.

01 SATURN GAS PLANT (DEEP CUT)

CLIENT : ConocoPhillipsConocophillips was developing Phase 1 & 2 of their Saddle Hills Waterflood Project, producing 94m3/d of oil. This required the construction of a new satellite on the wellsite, a new battery, pumping facilities and emulsion lines. WSP provided engineering and construction of additions to the wellsite including tie-ins, power solution and a solution gas compressor.

03 PLANT RECOVERY OF EMPRESS ETHANE

CLIENT : ConfidentialThe Bissette Compressor Station was built in several phases and has become a key part of Encana collection system for the development of large Montney. The station receives raw gas, pressurizes and dehydrates it. It includes a vapor recovery system and an incinerator to reduce emissions. WSP’s mandate encompassed project management, design, procurement and construction support.

02 SADDLE HILLS EAST MONTNEY OIL DEVELOPMENT

CLIENT: Keyera EnergyThe Rimbey Gas Plant has a capture area in excess of 4,600 square kilometres and offers a full range of gas processing services including gas gathering inlet separation, compression, sour gas processing, NGL extraction, NGL fractionation, sulphur and carbon dioxide. WSP designed the acid gas enrichment process, which improved plant sulphur recovery and catalyst life.
