GWTT designed, built, installed, and operated two 500 PGM oil/water treatment systems on a single project site in Yonkers, NY. Systems design meets effluent criteria of 10ppm oil and grease at full flow-rate specification. Each system consisted of an oil/water separator, transfer pumps, bag filters, and a 10,000-pound granular activated carbon unit. The systems discharged to a local manhole. The systems were installed and connected to the site existing drainage basin and discharge point via HDPE piping. Automatic controls were built into the systems to prevent exceeding any pressure or level limits of the treatment components. Both systems were prefabricated in shipping containers at GWTT’s equipment fabrication facility in Wharton, New Jersey. GWTT set the treatment systems in place utilizing a 65 ton crane and ran HDPE piping from the ConEd’s drain-age basin to the systems, carbon units and discharge point.
