    supply" as compared #ith other annual crops. aturally" palm oil is characteri0ed as stabili0ed oil due to its chemical composition.

    Palm oils consist mainly of glycerides and" li!e other oils in their crude form" small and variable portions of non@glyceride components as #ell. (n order to render the oils to an

    edible form" some of these non@glycerides need to be either removed or reduced to acceptable levels. ,he aim of refining is therefore to convert the crude oil to $uality edible oil

    by removing ob/ectionable impurities to the desired levels in the most efficient manner. ,his also means that" #here possible" losses in the desirable component are !ept

    ,he palm oil refining process is $uite identical. ,here are t#o routes are ta!en to process crude oil into refined oilI #hich are chemical )basic* refining and physical refining. ,he
