Seattle Center Monorail On Sunday, June 9, 2019, Seattle Center Monorail will open early at 5:15am for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon. The Monorail can carry up to 250 passengers per trip.

To Access the Monorail: (Located on the third floor of Westlake Center Mall, 400 Pine Street, Seattle): Use the stairwell or elevator located on 5th Avenue between Pine Street and Olive Way.

Buy Your Ticket Ahead of Time: We recommend that all race participants who plan on using the Monorail pre-purchase their monorail tickets through the mobile smartphone app, Transit Go Ticket.

1. Download “Transit Go Ticket” mobile app on your phone. Open the app, create an account, and add your payment information. The app works for Metro Buses, Link Light Rail, Water Taxi, and Seattle Streetcar too – tickets are the same price as if you were paying in-person.

2. After June 3, 2019, you can pre-purchase your monorail one-way ticket(s). Once you buy a ticket, it’s valid for one-week (that’s why you need to wait until after June 3). If you’re planning on using the Monorail to get to and from the race, please buy two one-way tickets.

3. Before you reach the Monorail ticket booth, you’ll need to open the Transit Go Ticket app, select the ticket under the “Use” section, and activate your ticket. Once you activate, the ticket is valid for 10 minutes, so make sure you’re close to the cashier before activating.

• You can select multiple tickets at once (make sure you tap on each one – scroll to the right, a black checkmark shows up on the bottom right for the tickets you are wanting to activate.

• Press the “Tap to active” blue button and say “Yes” to activate. Show your activated ticket to the Monorail cashier.

Buy Your Ticket On the Day of the Race: If you don’t want to pre-purchase tickets through the app, you can buy your ticket from the monorail cashier at Westlake Center Station ON THE DAY OF THE RACE – cash is fastest (you don’t need exact change, we can make change). We also accept credit cards. Currently, the Monorail does not accept ORCA cards. The only way to buy a ticket ahead of time is through Transit Go Ticket mobile app, our cashiers are not able to sell you a prepaid ticket in advance of the race.

When you’re ready to activate, select your ticket(s) and tap blue circle

Open the Transit Go Ticket mobile app to buy tickets

Select Monorail and add tickets to your cart, then checkout

Confirm that you’re ready to use (expires within 10 minutes)

Show your activation screen to the Monorail cashier before boarding
