The phonograph is a device invented in 1877 for the mechanical recording and reproduction of sound.
Then E. Berliner invented gramophone in 1887 and took out its patent.
Berliner modified phonograph to use a disc rather than a cylinder
Fritz Pfleumer developed magnetic tape in 1930s and then this development became the pioneer of audio cassettes
In 1962, first audio cassete was released
In 1982 CDs were available in stores
MP3 players were released in 1990s.
