    KHD provides hot kiln alignments as well as mechanical inspections to ensure a life-time of operational reliability.

    KILN INSPECTION

    HOT KILN ALIGNMENT

    Geometric Axis Survey: theoretical calculation of the center axis of the

    kiln, and the position of the roller station

    Kiln bearing inspection and adjustment

    Girth gear and pinion inspection

    Inspection of tire and support roller

    Inspection of the condition of the kiln shell

    Inspection of the kiln‘s thrust system (hydraulics)

    MECHANICAL INSPECTION

    Inspection and vibration measurements of the kiln drive, including main

    drive, girth gear, and pinion

    Inlet and outlet seal inspection

    Inspection of supporting rollers and tires, including the contact area between

    tire and roller surface

    Inspection of the thrust roller settings

    Observation and measurement of tire slip

    Inspection of the supporting roller shaft and bearing condition

    The customer is supplied with a full set of documentation listing all measurements

    taken, along with adjustment recommendations and supervision

    Thermal imaging of the preheater and kiln can be used to establish the contact pattern between the girth gear and pinion during operation, as well as to identify cold spots where falseair may be entering the system.

    3D SCANNING SERVICESMost cement plants undergo several layout changes over the course of many years of operation, e.g. modification of ducting, installation of additional equipment, electrical cables, air pipes, etc. However, these changes are rarely recorded in plant layout drawings. Using 3D photography, we can measure between any two points in the building and generate a full set of up-to-date layout drawings for the plant.
