Pull, Susan, 30 of Nanakuli will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Rita’s Church. Friends may call
after 9 a.m. Burial will be in Nanakuli Homestead Cemetery. The family asks that casual attire
be worn. She was fatally stabbed Saturday at home. Miss Puli was born in Hawaii. She is
survived by two sons, John C. and Anthoni Alvarez; two daughters, Starlene K. and Santosh L.
Jones; four sisters, Laureen Brown, Abigail Castaneda, Francesca Patronis and Stacey
Kamealoha and her grandmother, Rose W. Kealoha. Leeward Funeral Home is handling

PUMMILL, PHOEBE FEI, 60, of Santa Rosa, Calif., a former resident of Honolulu, died April
26, 1989. She was born in China and was the co-manager of the American Youth Hostel in San
Francisco, and had been active at St. Peters Episcopal Church and the Hawaii School for Girls.
Survived by husband, Joseph; four sisters; daughters, Patricia and Evelyn; sons, Wendell and
Phillip; and two grandchildren. Service to be held in California. Donations to Home Hospice of

PUOANUI, DAVID K., 74, of Honolulu died April 4, 1989. He was born in Waiohinu, Ka'u,

PURDY, JOHN KAUKOKALANI, 98, of Pepeekeo, Hawaii, died Nov. 22, 1989. He was born
in Paauhau, Hawaii, and was a cowboy retired from Parker Ranch. Survived by daughter,
Susannah Okamura; hanai daughter, Lucy “Lei” Girelli; five grandchildren; six great-

Pyle, Robert, 30, of Hawaii and Colorado died Saturday in Queen’s Hospital; Mr. Pyle was a
forest ranger in Colorado and Wyoming. Services will be private. Mr. Pyle was born in
Washington, D.C. The Punahou school graduate was the outstanding senior student of range
management while attending Washington State University. He is survived by his wife, Suzy; his
parents, Robert and Leilani Pyle; two brothers, Peter and Richard; a sister, Ellen Pyle; and his
